It happens because they are watching the european version of HBO, which runs at 25fps instead of 24fps like the US version. Here's one way to fix it: If you're on a PC, start the reaction video and right click it, then click on inspect. Then go to the console tab in the new window that popped up and copy paste this into the input box at the bottom: document.querySelector('video').playbackRate = 0.95910 and hit enter. After that you can close the inspect window. Now it should stay in sync. If you're on mobile I don't know how it can be fixed.

idk why this happens its very frustrating

Zechree

is this on hbo? cus it’s not synced on my end the speed of the dialogue is a little faster on your video

My bad, meant Dr Narcisse Will say that I love Boardwalk Empire but it really let down it’s black characters. Michael K Williams plays the only prominent black character for the longest time and the ones introduced later that receive the most screen time are villainous smh

Which character is Naseem in Boardwalk Empire?

Chidi.

One of the best episodes of television of all time, can't believe how much is in this one episode. Gotta give the mayor credit for seeing the good of Hamsterdam and trying his best to make it work. Mayor trying to do something good but Burrell thinking it's the usual and trying to cover his own ass by selling the mayor out to Carcetti. Fuck Burrell lol I love that scene of Avon forking out 15k for the gym equipment, somehow so touching despite everything. And I love seeing Stringer Bell get made a fool of, only because he always thinks he's the smartest person in the room and above that "gansta" shit that he immediately turns back to when he realises he's embarrassed himself and been conned. Also love Avon and Bell both appealing to "it's just business", but Avon doing it hoping to get Stringer off the hook, to save him, but Bell doing it to get Avon arrested and out of the picture. And what motivated Stringer to do this? Avon pointing out how Stringer had made a fool out of himself.

I don’t disagree about how he handled Marlo, the same way he expects politicians to blindly eat up his money he thinks Marlo will jump on in with an invitation to the co-op for the money and security. The world is so simple to him, he thinks that people value the same things he does and approaches others from a place of cold utilitarian logic I doubt String would have the same heartfelt reaction to Cutty asking out that Avon had, he wouldn’t stop and disagree with Slim Charles about Cutty not being a man anymore Think that scene with Avon and Cutty brilliantly contrasts String’s response to Dee leaving the game, immediately writing Dee off

I would have to disagree about him “flourishing” at leading the co-op. He has zero idea about how to handle Marlo. He just thinks everything can be handled with enough money. And as both Avon and Marlo prove, he’s very wrong.

Stringer is on my short list of favorite HBO antagonists (don’t like the word “villain”). [Love Cersei (GOT), Villainelle (Killing Eve), Naseem (Boardwalk Empire), Cameron (White Lotus), could keep going 🥲] A lot of great antagonists get what they want in one way or another and many are full of contradictions but what stands out to me about String is the fact he would be completely happy if he got out of the game. Like a lot of antagonists he enjoys getting the upper hand on others but unlike a lot of them it’s not something he lives for, it doesn’t drive him. He’s self aware enough to know he has very clear weaknesses and wouldn’t be where he is without Avon which eats him up He wants to reach a place where he can stand on his own and flourish, he doesn’t want to be defined by where he came from (unlike Avon). This hurts all the more when he flourishes leading the co-op but then is immediately taken advantage of when he enters Clay Davis’ world (just like Avon said he’d be) It’s so fitting that the people who kill him ARE hard criminals that AVON directed to kill him. Hard criminals that Stringer screwed over to secure his business interests that would let him escape the game. It’s even more fitting that he dies at the development site he was staking all his wealth on Below is a great video breaking down how deliberate Stringer is in his actions and how his character serves the narrative. Idris Elba is goated for this performance (the channel also has amazing break downs for every Succession character 🙏) https://youtu.be/jKpFGlVMIq8?si=-zn1u_CqYaCKY6km
