Pausing Patreon in September

Hey my lovelies.


I'm writing this to give everyone a heads up that I might be pausing my Patreon page for the month of September. IE You will not be billed on 1st September (for the month of September), and billing will resume on 1st October when I return from the break. And of course, I will continue posting here on Patreon until the end of August.


In this time that my Patreon page is paused, I'll focus solely on MPL production work which WILL still go on. On that note, for those who have been asking when the launch will be, you might have missed the MPL launch update post I made awhile back - the answer is hopefully September or October.


Nothing serious or major is happening, and everything is relatively well. But I've finally recognised that I'm in the middle of some kind of creative burnout (and probably some mental and emotional fatigue), which is leading to a serious decline in productivity. I've tried many things - self-talking myself out of this, plowing through the work, putting in extra hours to compensate for the time I spent being unable to produce. Buuuut nothing is working.


To be clear, it's not an art block. A quote I read from this article pretty much sums up what I'm feeling -

"Creative burnout is when you do not have the energy to give to your craft no matter how much you push or try to focus. Everything you touch sucks. Your inner critic is set to “ruthless”. Your creative tank is empty. You have nothing left to give."

So...I'm thinking of taking the month off to carve out some mental and emotional space for myself, and to allow myself some room to breathe. To wallow, mope, and pick myself up again. And also to brace myself for the MPL launch on webtoon, when things are definitely going to be more insane and hectic than it is now.


I'll end this post here by thanking all of you for being so incredibly supportive and encouraging, and so full of goodness and positivity. If I don't make any posts to confirm the break at the end of the month, then it means I've decided against taking a break, and I'll just continue posting as usual.
