Page currency switched to Euros
Added 2024-04-06 05:39:33 +0000 UTCDear all, due to the fact that I actually live in the Eurozone and the payment processor intermediary between Patreon and my bank account has changed rules and imposed new fees on currency conversion, I decided to switch my page's currency to Euros.
You can of course still pay in your own currencies if available, but the values might have changed a little (since the Euro is slightly higher than the dollar). I have not reduced the amount for the old $2 and $5 tiers (now €2 and €5, these are the tiers where Patreon takes the steepest cut anyway because there is a base amount they take for each tier + %, so at least the extra few cents you pay will go to me rather than them...) and have reduced the tier amount for the old $10 Epic Stud and $20 Epic Stallion tiers (now €9.50 and €19).
With this change, while it might add a little bit of cost on your side, the most important thing is that I don't get screwed left right and center by huge bank transfer fees. Since, again, whatever you guys pledge, it has to end up being converted to Euros at one stage in my case (amount that I then have to declare to the French taxman for your information, to the eurocent precision!).
