I know mikasa and armin were trusting. But everyone else were pretty much scared at first but grew to trust him as he showed his capabilities and dedication to humanity. Im pretty sure jean specifically was worried about the destruction his power could cause and we know how that turned out. Most of the higher ups in the military police wanted him executed, but people like erwin were interested in his potential to be humanities key to freedom and military power.

2025-10-08 13:54:16 +0000 UTCOne thing that I think actually puts Kaiju No. 8 above Attack on Titan is the supporting cast's reaction towards the MC having the power of the enemy. I know that was discussed last season when Kafka was outed and no one in the Third cared, but this episode demonstrates it further. Kafka is largely the Defense Force's best asset right now, but Hoshina straight up tells Kafka to not transform anynore to try and spare his dwindling humanity. That's something that Eren was never really given, at least to my knowledge, though you could argue that the circumstances allowed for that leeway on Kafka's part. Until recently, the Defense Force seemed to have a MUCH better grasp on the Kaiju situation than the Scouts did with the Titans.

2025-10-07 17:06:33 +0000 UTCAs a manga reader, I'm still VERY intrigued by what that figure Kafka saw at the end was . . . Maybe Kaiju No. 8 is like an Avatar or One For All situation, where Kafka isn't the first one this parasite has bonded with. 🤔
