Each arc so far has gone back and for between a "training/skill building" arc and a "skill application arc. The exam introduces the concept of hunting, and then we get a quick "hunt" of rescuing Killua. Heaven's Arena was our training to learn the basics of being a pro hunter, and then Yorknew was about applying those skills in the hunt for the Phantom Troop (mostly carried by Kurapika). Greed Island was the big training arc that catapulted Gon and Killua to the standards of being real professional hunters. Which in affect makes the Chimera Ant arc the first "professional" hunt the boys have gone on, the one where all of the skills they've built up so far are put to the test.

2025-10-06 05:11:34 +0000 UTCI had forgotten what motivates Gon this arc until the “Letts Review” section… and I will say nothing more. 😂

2025-10-03 10:27:01 +0000 UTCThe crab ant was like 7ft tall and was built like a California king sized mattress…my god

2025-10-03 04:05:01 +0000 UTCThis arc is the reason HxH is considered one of the most mature, dark and well-written mangas of all time. The contrast it makes with Greed Island is crazy. But still it's not my favorite lol, don't get me wrong, Chimera Ant arc is peak fiction, but the last arc in the manga is even better IMO, but it's not finished yet, Togashi is cooking

2025-10-02 22:51:26 +0000 UTCThe fact that they gave you kind of the Anime: "I'll protect you" speech that would _ususally_ lead to someone saving the kid and then just... didn't. Like, nope, these kids are dead now, that's just how it goes.

2025-10-02 18:32:33 +0000 UTCLove how you _immediatly_ clock what a giant fucking problem an antcolony in this size would be. And also... welcome to the most gripping, most fucked up and most traumatizing arc of this series. Have fun!

2025-10-02 18:21:26 +0000 UTCYeah the chimera ant arc has some really dark material. It's long but good. Insane, but masterful.

2025-10-02 15:52:17 +0000 UTCShes right that the queen doesn't choose. Just cause she picks a snake or humans doesnt guarantee, scales, fangs or hands. But, eat enough and have enough kids and you'll have plenty of chances to pass those on.

2025-10-02 15:06:09 +0000 UTCa nen ant... a nant... killed me, montana is so silly. im glad you guys are picking up how quickly this is gonna spiral out of control. and what a pick up by montana to notice that curt's protectiveness kinda passed onto the squadron leader also theres one small arc after this one. very short. The chimera ant arc is just ultra long, and id personally divide it into two halves and theres a clear line when the change happens near the middle

2025-10-02 14:42:53 +0000 UTCBtw this isn’t the last arc of the show, it’s just the longest and regarded as the best
