Functional Mill Additions
Added 2023-02-16 17:15:51 +0000 UTCSort of a follow-up from the off the grid rustic gameplay question I asked previously.
I have been meaning to separate out some of the mill products and make separate objects - spice grinder, diary , cheese maker, oil maker ( oil press ?), windmill, etc. Everything will be off the grid compatible. I will keep the main mill object - both industrial and rustic versions as a central hub for all the craftables.
What do you guys think of this ?
What type of mill like objects will fit into modern as well as rustic gameplay ?

2023-02-22 12:13:14 +0000 UTCMaybe a dehydrator, you could have dried fruit, jerky etc. With how many fruits you've added to game the possibilities are endless!!!

2023-02-22 04:29:51 +0000 UTCI have a cheesemakerbin the works...lots of cheeses have already in the plan. I am still deciding on the look of the maker š I was wondering whether I can make a mordern as well as rustic version

2023-02-21 05:10:52 +0000 UTCCheese maker that makes different kinds of cheeses that you can also use in recipes. theres a mod like that but not cheese maker

2023-02-20 20:21:40 +0000 UTCI was thinking more of the ratchet-style basket wine press variety (looks kinda like a butter churn). Nice and compact for those tiny home lots. š š

2023-02-20 14:54:30 +0000 UTCSimilar to the nectar maker or something different?

2023-02-20 14:54:08 +0000 UTCCould a juicer (apple juice, grape juice, goyave juice, sugarcane juice) could be a possible thing for you?

2023-02-20 14:52:29 +0000 UTCNot sure how feasible it is but a wine press would be pretty cool.

2023-02-18 10:05:42 +0000 UTCI have plans for different types of butter! Nut and other plant butters as well as flavoured butter.
MunMun
2023-02-18 06:15:32 +0000 UTCSimilarly, adding herbs or fruits or even certain flowers to things like butter and cream cheese could be another interesting thing for the mill to do! I like making lemon zest and lavender butter for crumpets and brioche, and one of my friends loves making cream cheese with rose to go with their candied ginger muffins.

2023-02-17 22:42:19 +0000 UTCI have plans for many variety of cheese! The flavoured cheese is a very good idea!

2023-02-17 16:27:56 +0000 UTCI'm not sure how much extra stuff you are interested in making, but I would love a special cheese maker, where your sims could make different types of cheese, or flavor cheese. Like, imagine adding garlic, herbs or nuts to cheese... Could work well with the herb garden. taking a few cuttings from there to add to whatever cheese your sim is making

2023-02-17 10:53:59 +0000 UTCYes! I have updated some of the older recipes after cottage living. Will do the rest definitely

2023-02-16 23:47:49 +0000 UTCIf you did a spice grinder you could make a mechanical version for modern play and a mortar and pestle for more old fashioned play!

2023-02-16 23:32:35 +0000 UTCButter churn, to start with. Able to ground up apples for applesauce

2023-02-16 23:28:22 +0000 UTCI love all these ideas! What I would like, when you have time is a redo of all the foods that use raw ingredients such as wheat and rice to use the ground mill products instead. Also, I would really like cornmeal as a mill option from corn.

2023-02-16 20:28:40 +0000 UTCDefinitely sesame oil. But Lavender oil will be made with a seperate flower press-essential oil extractor object which i will make later! So many stuff to make lol

2023-02-16 19:55:02 +0000 UTCI might even mention .... IRL I grow fruit to make wine to make vinegar. Translated into Sim world this would mean 3 pears to make a bottle of pear nectar and then x number of pear nectars to make a bottle of pear vinegar which may or may not require an additional dash of sugar or honey to then be consumed as is (buffs depending on the original ingredient) or used for salads or other recipes (perhaps as a SCCO any vinegar?) ...

2023-02-16 19:28:04 +0000 UTCI'd love to have them separated!

2023-02-16 19:17:23 +0000 UTCOh my goodness, you really opened a can of veggies there :-) I'm always looking for things to do with all of your wonderful herbs and fruits and whatnot! Curd with chives, with celery, with garlic, with an herb mix or sweet with cherries or any other fruit, what have you (perfect on your challa bread). Same goes for your creamcheese. Nutmeg. Judging by the amount of nutmeg I put in my sauces and soups IRL I certainly miss ground (milled) nutmeg for my Sim kitchen. Spice grinder, you say? Black pepper, chilies, bell peppers of all varieties. Which might require some kind of drying/parching step. Which would also go well with all of the herbs... Now I'm hungry :-)
Christiane Feit
2023-02-16 19:14:45 +0000 UTCI love the oil press. What do you think about olive or sesame oil? Or maybe lavender or grape seed oil to use with soap making?
Christiane Feit
2023-02-16 18:42:39 +0000 UTCThat's a fantastic idea. I love the thought of a windmill for grain-type plants, an oil press and a cheese maker. Not sure if or how a barrel for fermenting food would fit into this (e.g. Sauerkraut or Kimchi) but tossing it out there :-)

2023-02-16 18:36:48 +0000 UTCSounds amazing. Making different types of cheeses would be great. Seasonal plants and ingredients to make it more realistic.

2023-02-16 18:11:51 +0000 UTCSounds good!

2023-02-16 18:01:47 +0000 UTCLove this idea, and idk if you made a butter churn in mill products, but I think that counts as rustic

2023-02-16 17:38:27 +0000 UTCIām betting something to grind rice and wheat would be very helpful no matter the play type.

2023-02-16 17:36:18 +0000 UTCI love this idea!

2023-02-16 17:35:30 +0000 UTCThis is great, especially the spice grinder and oil maker/press as separate pieces.

2023-02-16 17:33:15 +0000 UTCAbsolutely love this idea. I love your crafting items for my off the grid self-sustaining Sim.
