3 Strikes
Added 2024-12-19 14:09:17 +0000 UTCWhat I’ve been fearing for a long time has finally happened. I received three strikes on my YouTube channel. Normally, three strikes result in permanent termination of a channel, but surprisingly, my channel is still up. Whether this is intentional (maybe they secretly like my videos?) or just a glitch in the system, I honestly don’t know.
What is certain is that I’m unable to upload any trainhopping-related content until the strikes expire on March 3. Until then, all new trainhopping journeys will be posted here instead. I’ll also be experimenting with different types of content and formats that don’t involve train-riding.
Sadly, everything from my Canada trip is now gone. It’s disappointing, but I’m grateful it stayed up for a few weeks. I’m currently replacing the YouTube links on Patreon with Vimeo links so the entire Canada journey will still be available here.

Maybe also take a look at Peertube? (https://joinpeertube.org) You could either join an existing instance (https://joinpeertube.org/instances), or go with a paid, managed hosting (e.g. https://fedihost.co/hosting/peertube) or setup your own server, to have full control (but also the costs and maintenance). Anyway, support continues!

I think Odysee is generally is a pretty good platform with community guidelines that sound quite lenient, and you can also receive tips on-platform. And it could definitely use more quality creators like yourself. Maybe I would finally start using it because of you :)

Interesting is, that it affects mostly all new uploaded videos, but I find many years old train surfing videos from other uploaders that are still online. I think, the youtube "scanners" check only newer videos, and are too busy to scan also old videos about their content. But thanks a lot for uploading copies here, or also on Vimeo. Strange, that so many crap, brutal and dangerous stuff is on Youtube, but they mainly censor train surfing, like this would be the worst and most dangerous thing on the world... Now at the end of the year, again a big THANK YOU for all your great videos and sharing your adventures and travels with us.
