Ranger - The Phantom Escort || Become An Undying Protector

Hey everyone!

Today, I'm excited to share a new Ranger subclass I've been working on—the Phantom Escort. It's centered around the theme of being a bodyguard, guiding people and their valuable (often fragile) items through perilous wilderness and threats.

The spark for this came while I've been hammering out some alchemical rules for future content.

It made me realize how crucial it is, lore-wise, to have someone dedicated to protecting both the potions and the folks brewing them in a world full of horrors.

That's why this subclass leans into that protective role, though the lore isn't locked in yet.

On the mechanics side, I really wanted to work on Hunter's Mark, since its default focus on damage falls off after level 5. Flipping it to a defensive tool just seemed like a fun angle.

I toyed with some flashy concepts early on, like teleporting to your ward or swapping positions for heroic saves, but I ditched them because realistically with this subclass, you'll never be far away from the person you need to keep a watch over.
