To answer one question, Ferengi don't have SUPER-hearing...but they do have excellent hearing.

Just goes to show (and will be seen in future Trek in general) that the 'small' episodes with a limited scope are often the best ones. And DS9 gets better from here onwards too. Its a fan favourite for a reason!

That episode showed a darker tone and a moral gray area that is a common thread through the series. People you think of as โthe good guysโ arenโt always so. I feel it is the Trek most grounded in reality.
