Team America: World Police (2004) Full Length Reaction

Dirka dirka!

🏆 Poll Winner!

**I watched the theatrical version I believe because it does not have the 'extended puppet sex scene' people have been asking me about! **

Lollll this one was zany, wacky and sooo funny! Loved the puppetry, the musical numbers and so happy to finally see the references I've been hearing for so long in context 😆😆 Should we watch some Top 10 South Park eps?

There is tons of behind the scenes, most can be found on youtube. Best part is how Matt & Trey hired the absolut best puppeteers but they had to ask them to dumb it down over and over because they just made it look too good. They also explain how hard it was to control the environments & the puppets, so at the end they blew everything up and said that no sequal would ever be produced. Matt & Trey are amazing songwriters and wrote the broadway musical "The Book of Mormon" whitch won like 8-9 Tony Awards & a Grammy.

A lot of people say it! I like the dig on Michael Moore :)

"I sense you are searching for something" she's clairvoyant?😅

MAAAATT DAMON!

Great reaction, Jen! I highly recommend Matt & Trey's stage musical The Book of Mormon. I saw it a few years ago and it was the single funniest thing I've ever seen.

David Murray

Jen, I found this video on YouTube giving a pretty good look at what they did behind the scenes. https://youtu.be/5mTmeOxEDo4 And definitely some great South Park episodes out there, and the movie (South Park: Bigger, Longer, & Uncut) got an Oscar Nomination for best song. Maybe watch some episodes to get a grasp on the main characters and then watch the movie?

Ian Forbes

That was hilarious. 😅💜 I don't have AIDS. A Top 10 South Park would be great.

Jason Scade

The song in the hallway near the end you were wondering about is from Kill Bill. And probably from something else knowing Tarintino.

Reed James

The Furling scene from that episode! :D

Reed James

In the 200th episode of Stargate SG1 they had a scene mocking their own show using puppets like in this movie. The whole episode was funny, but that scene was especially funny. :D

If you could get your hands on a DVD copy, there is a bunch of behind-the-scenes material. That said, it is probably also available online somewhere. But, the TLDR is that they swore there will never be a sequel because working with the high-tech puppetry and getting that level of quality with the sets and environments was way more difficult than anybody expected. It was all done practically, and it was, in the end, worth it. But, only once.

I'm glad you sat through the reprise of the songs so that you caught the last new song at the end of the credits.

For near on 20 years I've not been able to say Matt Damon's name without repeating it like that. 🤣
