Well put, i think the girls agree too. Subaru cant get a moments reprieve. all the Voice actors and Beetlgeuse VA expecially put on a disturbing yet stellar performance.

2021-07-28 19:54:01 +0000 UTCRegarding Subaru repeating that this is not his fault, its not what he wanted: Subaru knows that he can fix things (using return by death) when things go wrong for Emilia. He was hoping to arrive and find a problem to fix for Emilia and earn his way back into her good graces. When he arrives and finds the town and everyone at the mansion killed, he feels guilty because this IS a problem he may fix. He was not wishing for people to suffer and die just so he can get back on Emilia's good side.

2021-07-27 02:40:20 +0000 UTCI think Subaru was in mental anguish and clearly suffering, but he was not out-of-his-mind mad. He was catatonic out of a refusal to face/deal with everything. It was a choice to be slothful, not the result of a completely demented mind. I think that is what Geuse saw and was commenting on. Geuse is shortly proven correct when the killing/torture of Rem prods Subaru into dropping his 'act' and yelling Geuse's name in rage.
