Our next resin project... Resin Axe!
Added 2023-01-10 16:23:57 +0000 UTCWe've been itching to do a full resin project… specifically, we really wanted to make a resin WEAPON! We decided to do a resin axe because we found one that came apart easily that we could make a mold of. And it just seemed COOL!!!!
Then we got to thinking ok, what type of resin do we do, like what aesthetic do we go for? Well one we’ve never tried that we REALLY wanna try is lava/molten resin, so that’s what we’re gonna attempt! We even made little resin “lava rocks” by partially curing the resin til it was squishy, then pressing actual lava rock into it to imprint the pattern. They turned out pretty cool and it was oddly satisfying :)
The silicone mold for the axe is still curing (and so are these “rocks”) but next up is the actual lava itself. I think we may test out a few resin lava test cubes first since we’re new to it. Also yes, we WILL be adding glow powder (of course hehe).

Feel like an axe with petrified wood would be very fitting (both magma and wood :))
