You know the idiom about underwater basket weaving?

Well we were thinking about our experience with the underwater livestream a couple years ago and were like, what other underwater projects could we film? And we decided “why not try literally underwater basket weaving!” So… here we are haha.

When we did the livestream, we rented a lot of the equipment but that was *super* stressful... Everything had to line up perfectly and we just had a small window during which we could film, not giving us any back up chances if there was bad weather or something came up. So this time, thanks to some discounts from Ocean Technology Systems (the company that makes the Shark Week gear), we bought it. Oh boy. These are gonna be the most expensive baskets ever and I don’t even know if we’re gonna actually be able to make them underwater!

Also instead of Scuba, we went with Snuba this time. This means we will be hooked up to an air compressor on the surface, and we don't have to wear the big air tanks. Since the masks with mics require us to be hooked up via cables to the surface anyway, this just made more sense.
Now is probably not a good time to admit that I (Katelyn) REALLY hate it when my fingers get pruny, to the extent that if I’m hanging out in a body of water I will keep my hands elevated out of the water just to avoid it. So the idea of trying to do a project with my hands underwater makes me feel uncomfy. But I’ll do it!
