*SPOILER WARNING* (or should I say “spoiled pumpkin warning” am i right? heh heh heh). First off, I know we are technically publishing after Halloween but guys - this video was intense. For example, look at how many folders I had to make just to keep everything organized compared to a more usual video:

But it’ll be live this Friday, woo!! Anyways, despite getting Meatball fully encased in resin, HE CONTINUED TO CHANGE haha. Here is how he looked the day we demolded him:

Notice the divider line where he’s more orange on the bottom, more white on top. Originally what we thought happened is the base of him, which was fully encased in the solid resin cube first, was more “preserved” and that’s why it was more orange. We assumed the upper part was more white because he was shrinking away from the initial resin shell (the resin coat we painted on him before we started filling the cube). But then we took photos for the next 18 days and this is how he looked:

It’s subtle, but you’ll notice the orange/white divider line has risen upwards a little bit (it’ll be even more noticeable in the timelapse). So that makes us think that the orange is not actually the “fresher”, more preserved pumpkin chunk. It’s actually that slowly, within the resin, Meatball is leaking pumpkin juice and it’s flowing down to his base, coloring that section more orange. Think he’ll turn to 100% juice eventually? It’ll be interesting to check in with him 6 months or a year from now!
