Tetris Afterblock! I mean Aftershow!

Sorry about the delay on this, usually we record aftershows right after recording our outro for the project but this one was a little different since we recorded the outro with Simone and didn't get a chance to do the aftershow til we were home. Thanks for the feedback John! Yeah... I think we felt weird including too much footage from the livestream itself, but we weren't able to get additional footage aside from that other than what was included (intro, outro, and 2 close up shots). We definitely should have tried to make it more clear that the robot scene was more of a bonus scene instead of building it up as being more. I think also, because the entire build part of the video was filmed before going up there, we had thought maybe we'd be able to capture more than we did or that the livestream would be a little longer, a little more interactive, etc. Really, we were just kinda swept along a wave and tried to get as much as we could without feeling like an imposition - but it's hard to explain that in a video without sounding negative, you know? Ah it's tough. And we're glad to hear your honest thoughts for sure. This whole thing has been kinda eating at us because it just felt "off" and it's hard to figure it out in the moment sometimes. Also thank you!! Haha I'm the kid that always got good grades and teachers loved so I feel the need to make sure authority figures don't get mad at us haha -K

2018-03-13 18:31:09 +0000 UTCI'll offer two thoughts; 1) the robot actually playing Tetris seems lost in the story - it is so much more about building the blocks and going out there, I feel like it is incomplete somehow and 2) in her other videos Simone often uses language I never hear on E&K and if I did I wouldn't subscribe to E&K. I know that sounds judgmental and I guess it is but I'm just sharing honest an thought with you. Also, I really love when Katelyn gets 'caught' and then volunteered to explain what you are doing; first to the police about the fire cannon in the park and now to TSA about what these wood blocks are doing in your bag! She sounds so innocent talking to "authority figure' - a very good story element

We were so excited that Simone would ask us to do something with her (we've been fans since long before starting our own channel) that we were ok with not having control over what would happen in the livestream or what type of project we could do for our video. We loovvvved how the video with Johnny turned out and are hoping we can do similar things with Bob and Alec! I think the Simone thing was definitely a learning experience... Still glad we did it and it was so fun to be asked to do a livestream with someone we admired, but yeah... Not having full control or time to do things how we'd like to was tough. Really appreciate the honesty feedback, it really helps to hear

I enjoy your chemistry, the way you approach things, and how you explain things. I felt like the Simone video was fun and interesting for another channel, but it didn't feel like an E&K video unlike the Johnny Brook one which felt like E&K&J which is probably why I enjoyed both the video AND the totally awesome aftershow. I think that's what I was trying to say with my last comment and failed miserably at doing. :)
