16h timelapse!
Added 2019-02-17 23:15:08 +0000 UTCHey guys.
As promised, here's that timelapse I mentioned in the previous video. This project took just under 16 hours to produce (in total, render time excluded).
*** I believe the first way to succeed with making commercial projects as fast as possible and thereby maximize your income is to make sure that you are NOT starting the project before ALL material you need is provided and ALL is APPROVED by the end client, meaning that you won't get any nasty changes. You have to be able to work more or less from start to finish without having any communcation with the client. This also means that they have to trust your experience and not demand WIP's every 5 minutes. FYI, we don't work with that kind of clients. As soon as we realise they are like that we turn them down. Happened last time just a week ago.
*** Second one is to make sure YOU make the decisions in furnishing, alternatively give the client an insight in your model library so they can pick models from there. You do NOT want them to ask for models you don't have, as modelling a chair might take you half the time as this whole project if it's a complicated one.
*** Third one is obviously to HAVE a model bank, a solid, well filled one. If you don't have it, you will need to invest. Believe me, it's a good chunk of money to invest in a serious model bank but you will earn it back in no-time when you can produces images like in this timelapse.
I also promised you to upload an uncut version of that other project I was talking about. Sadly I did get a lot of changes on it and I didn't succeed to break the record above, but I was pretty darn close. I didn't record all the changes though, but I don't think that actually matters. This video series will start coming up in a week from now!

Hi Johannes I recently joined this beautiful community and I have come realize a lot so far. Is there a video on the lighting setup for this particular interior scene? Please pardon me if I'm dragging you back in any way.
2019-09-12 08:42:10 +0000 UTClove it, do you plan to do any tutorials on how you did that amazing lighting setup. It looks mind blowing :) thanks for sharing.

2019-06-08 18:04:55 +0000 UTCThank you for your kind words, really appreciate that :)
2019-03-13 15:05:09 +0000 UTCWow you really paid attention, I'm impressed :D That's a feature built into Connecter, if you export more objects than one at the same time, there's a "split" feature that exports them out one by one. :)
2019-03-13 15:04:50 +0000 UTCThroughly enjoyed watching that. I think I blinked 3 times in the whole of that video lol There where a few things that really stood out to me in that video, one being around the two minute mark. You isolate and render out a number of the items from that set within what seems like minutes. What was the process of doing that? Thanks again for the great content JoJo!
2019-03-12 09:51:08 +0000 UTCJohannes, the insight you give us is worth alot more than what you charge on your Patreon. Thanks alot for the content you provide. It means alot for people like me who dream of becoming independent in this industry.
2019-03-11 14:48:53 +0000 UTCThat is from "Hypefocal skies" :)
2019-03-05 12:59:44 +0000 UTCThis music is actually my own, made it with "AUXY" on the iPad :) The previous music I've been using has been made by a friend of mine, specifically for my videos.
2019-03-05 12:59:24 +0000 UTCThank you, that is my next priority :)
2019-03-05 12:58:29 +0000 UTCHi, thank you! Well the connecter tut is the next video to record, I'm just about to upload just over 5 hours of video from a sharp client project, with the focus to try to break my hourly record as mentioned before. After that I have the connecter video to record, and then I'll make another hopefully exciting but short video about a client meeting that I had that I want to share with you. I know I'm behind schedule, March has been a really bad month but I'm trying to make it up to you guys from now on!
2019-03-05 12:58:17 +0000 UTCUsually we just deliver our images via Dropbox, as full size JPG and PNG. When it comes to trust it's always different for different clients. One of our goals or mottos if you will, is not to have a huge client base but rahter few clients that we have GREAT relationships with. This is something we have succeeded pretty well with and we trust our clients very much and they trust us. However there are obviously new clients from time to time and if we are uncertain, we do watermark them. :-)
2019-03-05 12:56:42 +0000 UTCYes, this video wasn't meant to be a tutorial or a guide in any way, but I was in fact about to slow it down before posting it, but I realized I had deleted the original videos :/
2019-03-05 12:54:46 +0000 UTCI did a video about this long before but that's probably a bit outdated now so I should definitely make a new one. I appreciate your request :)
2019-03-05 12:54:07 +0000 UTCYou can't afaik. I actually was going to slow it down before posting it but realized I had deleted all the original recordings. :/
2019-03-05 12:53:15 +0000 UTCFunny thing about being nice to our clients is that we really believe we have to be nice. I mean, being nice and friendly is a good thing, and giving some discounts can make wonders for the relationship from time to time, but first hand we don't need to be nice, we just need to be professional. If we are and act professional and we can offer something that others don't, we can also charge a good amount of money without being seen as a dickhead. :)
2019-03-05 12:52:46 +0000 UTCThank you, I'm trying my best. :-)
2019-03-05 12:50:00 +0000 UTCHappy you came to that realisation, sometimes we do get stuck in bad loops with clients who just break is down and not everyone even notice it. :)
2019-03-05 12:49:46 +0000 UTCwhere can we find that timelapse hdri you use in projects ? It's a brilliant idea...thx in advance

2019-03-04 10:29:07 +0000 UTCWhat is background music?I remember you mentioned this music on YouTube, but I didn't find it.
2019-02-25 03:42:34 +0000 UTCAbsolutely wild!
2019-02-22 13:50:22 +0000 UTCHi johannes Please Make a tutorial about connector how to organized all the model bank and previews etc :) waiting for that
2019-02-22 07:55:55 +0000 UTCHey Johannes, great content on your tuts, expected nothing less than this :) Is there any planned date for the Connecter tut? Cheers!
2019-02-19 09:33:21 +0000 UTCWhat image delivery system do you use with clients? I assume they see some form of watermarked versions before they have the final files? Or do you just trust them? Great insight as always
2019-02-18 23:20:49 +0000 UTCCould you make it a bit slower next time? In some parts I found it hard to watch. Great job anyway.

2019-02-18 14:19:28 +0000 UTCThanks for sharing
2019-02-18 12:29:37 +0000 UTCHi Johannes! Is there any video about hardware setup for fstorm? Wondering if you could share how to setup the rack with several gpus as you have. Realise you don't close your computer and gpus are stacked outside. How do you connect that to motherboard...and stuff like that would be great to know. Maybe that's already somewhere else.. Thanks for all your effort on sharing all in here!
2019-02-18 12:05:31 +0000 UTCHi Johannes how do I slow this down?
2019-02-18 11:26:30 +0000 UTCI was so too nice to my clients, omg, i am about to change so much thing in my business right now, starting from my workflow, i definitely will have so much time off for me from now on. So thank you Johannes for the last business vs workflow posts ! It helps tremendously :)
