the food scarcity convo tho. it's insane like I'm to the point where I save fast food if i have it leftover and I'll warm the rest back up the next day and some of my friends think that's insane like I will fight someone over wasting food. it's fucking disgusting

2023-07-23 03:42:43 +0000 UTCThere's restaurants that will give you massive amounts of food or will give you appetizers without you asking which are such a waste. There's a restaurant in Little Italy in Baltimore that gives you these big bowls of salads for appetizers without you asking for them, I know half of them get thrown out. Most of these foods that restaurants and grocery stores that get thrown out could go to food banks but I know there's a lot of rules and regulations that go to these donations. I did an assignment in college on food deserts and just the amount of waste and resources that aren't being used is infuriating.

I just donβt understand, plus the husband isnβt working and what seems like heβs not even really trying so itβs hard, but I couldnβt not give a child some food. π£ smh. Food stamps help in situations like these, put your pride aside and help the family.

My husband had 2 boys from a prior relationship at the time when he lived with his then girlfriend. He would work night shift and would sleep during the day but he had the kids on the weekends. His son was hungry and asked for some cereal. His ex said βNo. Itβs not my job. Go wake up your dad.β So little boy maybe 5-6 yrs old went to wake up dad. My husband woke up, which started the fight with his ex. He packed up his stuff, took his kids and moved out that very day and broke up with her. My husband loves his kids more than anything in the world and thatβs what I love about him.

Let that sink in. To me that means she has eaten in front of him once more before this, and this poor 16 year old is not asking to eat all of it, but wants to share! And she has the fucking gall to say 'no, and you can blame your father because he's too lazy to feed you'
