I read somewhere that the broadcast in the beginning is an original broadcast from sometime in the beginning of the 1920s, which is right around the time public radio broadcasting started in Germany, but don't know if that's true. In the DDR (east germany) there was a lot of censorship going on, and there was no art broadcasts, but rather sometimes it was possible to listen to west german radio, when the signal managed to get through the signal jammers.
