I've been working over a disconnect I've had with my planar 'headspace'.  The world with which I draw from.  It's not tied as much to burnout as it is to depression and the general feeling of how reality is just getting worse with every groaning click of the clock.

It helped that I was able to at least draw from another's world for a time, and that I have this ponderous backlog of sketches to both ink and colour/paint.  It keeps me at least creatively active.

Recently, however, I came across a song that drove me right back to the deep green of that primordial earth.  In fact it was a song that brought me to tears at points because the video, at least, portrayed something very akin to CInders' life.

The song was 'Anoana' from a band called Heilung (Healing).  Its very often that this group can, through an almost meditative vehicle, pull my mind back to the equivalent iron-age of Felwroth.  Anoana struck a very deep, timbered chord that shook earth and shadow from me.  It was enough that I had to take a couple days to just process the amount of imagery that I could see whistling by in my head.

I know.  I sound utterly mad.

I probably am.

I want to try sketching a few of these over the coming weeks as well.  They will feature Cinders (Yes, its a lot of pony, I know).  Without going into too much detail, her earlier years were lonely in terms of mortal companionship, but she found a profound connection to nature, and the very hum of the lifeblood of the world.  She cared about every living soul, and had threads into the ethereal, where she could speak with the spirits around her.

She was always a person of healing.

She drew from no other source than her intense will to protect and help those around her.  She understood conflict would happen, but it was always the very last resort.  She was a song of leaves and autumnal sunsets.

The images will feature her in her younger days (fully clothed of course) but portray a little of her world at those times.  And the spells drawn from her heart, encoded in the draconic rumblings, from a girl born in autumn, under the eclipse of the moon Javruune, with lunar sister Zhar'anoth and brother Aldrnath in high stations.

So hopefully this will lead to at least compelling illustrations.  Or something fun to look at perhaps.
