Gnome Morning Tea

Ellythistle has been on my mind lately, and a fair amount of that was getting ideas of where she, her Khettu companion and her Lorrnathi companion actually live.  

I was afforded some very strong visuals of what their home looks like and the kind of township they live in.  Realizing that it's a fey-based town comprised primarily elves, a few centaur, and some goblins as well (though the non-fel-blooded ones of course).

The home is cozy.  Not in that it's tiny, but in that it is made of stonework and masonry, with a large circular window overlooking the top of the hill it sits upon.  Ellythistle's commute to her office is incredibly short (no pun intended).  From the bedroom, to the kitchen for tea and a scone, and into the well lit room with that large circular window.

It serves as both her office as well as Raudhan's, where she is a chronicler and weaver of sorceries (and mild miracles), Raudhan is an inventor as well as a fine swordsman.  The space is littered with books and papers amidst a small forest of potted plants to lend greenery to the space where sciences collide.

The walls, likewise, are adorned with maps of the stars and other planar places, little dots on tea-stained parchment to show their progress in years of exploring, all contrasted by blueprints for various contraptions, some as complex as mimicking the wings of birds for flying machines, and others simple.. Like the spork.  Which despite the name is not a spoon-fork, but a way to send a corgi into space.

Ellys is happiest that she can show up to work in her nightshirt, and just sip tea to wake up before pouring into writing about the intricacies of the silent statues surrounding the checkered field of Houhrannan, or who the inventors of the harvesters were.

My hope is to be able to draw their home, as well as the people of the town.  They're a sea-side town, and a favourite of some of the sea-faring bird folk which I'd like to try and draw again.  I mean they're birds.  They peck crackers and do a squeep.

For now, its just getting into a sketching headspace again.  I've sent off notice to the next person on the sketch list via e-mail, despite stating I'd do it via notes here.. Force of habit.  If I can remember, the next ones will be sent via notes here as I get a pretty low rate of reply to the mails.
