Help us bring the Magic next month!

Hi Patrons,

It’s brainstorming time and your invaluable input is crucial for our next month’s release:  Wizard’s Guild.

The collection is almost ready and there’s only one troop left to design and there’s no better person to ask than you 🙂

What kind of Troops would you like to assist and protect your Wizards?

As the saying goes, your wish is my command 🪄

Comments

I like the idea of clockwork automata.

Geoffrey Ding

I wanna see Wizard bodyguards, akin to "sword mages" or like paladins, except with arcane magic instead of divine powers. I started out in LARPing, and we had so-called "Force Guardians" to protect wizards; they had a few combat spells, and any damage conferred on the wizard, they took instead. So even if you were hitting the wizard directly, you had to kill his guardian before he took any damage.

Silas Mortensen

Please have wizards that are not grey bearded and old. For me, I use miniatures for dungeons and dragons and not once that I know of anyone wanting to play a 80 year old bearded man on their death bed with a crooked back. Also have something in the hand other than a staff.

demonwombatofdoom

Chromancer. Time wizard. This could look awesome ! :°

Vaarmore

animated artifacts like walking chests, lampposts. Or Homunculus of all sorts

Timo Hofmann

Living spells could be interesting 🤔

dragonicdaemon

elementals, magical brooms like from fantasia!

David Aleshire

I might be too late but I'd also like to see a troop of apprentices!

Deepweb

Plucky young apprentices showing off their newest tricks.

Amber Schwede

Opción 1: Armaduras de caballeros animadas magicamente para proteger a los magos (option 1: Living Knight armors with magic to protect the wizard) Opción 2: Arboles vivientes o ents (option 2: Living trees like "ents"

Bernard Adrián Lamas Crispín

I would think golems as elite or heavy. Skeletons or various low level elementals/demons and apprentices and maybe a sword magi team with various degrees of being armored

Mike Pigoni

Steampunk Wild Wild West......

Mark McKellar

This could be fun if they came up with some familiars that had some attitude and style.

Scott Jeffs

A undead skeleton army would be awesome, with decomposed like zombies, a few necromancers and maybe an elite guard with heavy armor and weapons. Would be also great to add corpse carts and maybe some cavalry !!!

Fabien

Azorius guild like soldiers from magic the gathering, plane of ravnica

Jeffrey St-Louis

I'd like to see skeletons also, but with broken weapon and armor, the kind where you can see the bones underneath. When you print with green transparent resin, you paint the weapons and armor normally leaving the green to glow. Looks really cool. also wouldn't mind see cool looking wizards, you see a pose or two from different starters but a set like a coven or summoning circle.

Ron Goodwin

Let's hope! I am afraid if they already Finished the roster there is nothing left but hope. But I absolutely believe they are capable of doing something like this. Morpheus, Hades, and the God of wine and whatever his name is spelled looked STUNNING. Still bulky but at least with some desirable faces 😏 would love to have some (long haired) spindly but oh so powerful young looking mage boy. Magic users need to be fancy and interesting I don't want another Dumbledore, Gandalf at least not only things like them. I feel girls have more variety but often fall back to the sexy seductive sorceress. Which is fine but it's getting boring 🙃

Yvonne Murta do Serro Milharo

Wizards... Well, I wouldn't mind seeing something akin to Bladesingers/Bladesinging, though, there's also the thrall approach and Familiar approach that could be done. Or, a construct approach. But, as a troop choice, I do see the Bladesingers fitting it the best.

ValkChronicle

Oh my goodness yes! Finding a model for my d&d mini of a rather skinny bookish young man has been impossible. Male wizards... Robes. Beards. Almost every time. Dozens of them. Females, more interesting poses occasionally and more diverse but too often just 'sexy women'. Variety is the spice of life.

Narrator Dave

I really hope its not all ugly old men with long beards and sexy women, because I am sick an tired of this stereo types. Give me sexy young wizards PLEASE.

Yvonne Murta do Serro Milharo

a bunch of the magical SCPs?

Dwayne Hinton

enslaved demons?

Dwayne Hinton

No matter the release, I want a smaller release so that you can focus on cloud storage system. I have been waiting for a few months now to update all my files

Blake Moody

Elementals, spell effects, familiars that are not just a cat or a owl

Robert Boggs

Did you see their witches from last years Halloween Set? Now on MMF!

Glitterwolf

what about skeletons? like... army of the dead style - where they're very agile and fast. not sure how you could represent that - maybe dynamic poses, a few of them together leaping over something or climbing up a wall?

Dwayne Hinton

Hear me out on this it's a big wishlist. I always love when Witches get the "big hat and a broomstick" thing re-imagined. It would be a dream come true to have witches with 'brooms' that are equal parts flying vehicle, and heavy rifle-like weapon. Major bonus points for having the black robe and hat be somewhat more like aviator fatigues and helmet. I know we're on the verge of steampunk by that point, but if nothing else give me a selection of very big witch hats and i'll still love it!

DeusX

Wizards & witches! I'd stay subscribed for a unit of good witches. I need hats. Anything with good hats!

DeusX

artificers or arcane constructs would be cool

Jeremy Kramer

Maybe skeletons, have them in roman legion or amazonian type military adornments (a raised army unit basically).

Scott Jeffs

Magical construct troops: like flesh-golems and the like

CURTIS CRADDOCK

animals would be so cool

Dastin Hoffmann

Familiars or spell effects please

Majah Brooks

how about spell effects? flame wall, vines, fireball etc?

Jens Blumenberg

Could have, elementals / sprites, constructs and / or familiars as bodyguard

Paintbrushturkey

I know you said there was only one troop left to design, but maybe younglings and their familiars? A little wizard kid and his tiny owl or dragon would be great for my game! If it's more of a combat-oriented troop, maybe an Amalgam (a person who has had every possible offensive spell cast on them) or an artificer with a ton of magic items. Letting your community help out with the design for the next release is fantastic. Thank you.

Jason Gillo

it has to be Golems they would work so well otherwise something a wizard could summon

FineToast

Mercenaries who aren't smart enough to be afraid of their employers, or summoned creatures/elementals/golems.

Hungry Drop Bear

Depending on the type of wizard they protect.. necromancer should have undead protectors, Conjurers I could see with anything, abjuration: more like energy circles and runes, alteration: half beasts/protectors, divination and enchantment: people/assistants/students , illusion and evocation could have energy critters (fire based electrical based or misty), or Mimics

Psycha

Helpers. Who act in the background. Tow equipment. Test objects for magical experiments. The little helpers could also easily be magically gifted. To present them in case of failed attempts would also be quite funny.

Andreas Kahn

A mimic treasure chest to protect his experiments.

John Jansen

Or generic cloaked unidentifiable cultists to help out with summoning the elder gods (I admit; just for utility reasons as a gamesmaster)

Ben Baccaert

Swarms of bats, rats, bees, rabbits and butterflies.

Ben Baccaert

Golems, Familiars, Mecenaries, Elementals...

Arktos

Summoned familiars

Diana Glewwe

I think most people are taking it to mean Magic Users in general. We don't know what they've done so far, so we can't tell if we're on theme. Plus it's fun to suggest wacky stuff and see what sticks. We got Meuooo the Mythical Shark Cow, after all.

eyflfla

Shape-shifters, and spellbaldes (people who use magic to fight up close). I would live to see living spells and other experimental magical things. Diffent magical schools try to recreate other spell types (druids trying to cast raise dead, what would that look like)

Zack Patty

Definitely would love to see a take on a mimic! Tho that's more a pet vs. troops. As others mentioned elementals would be pretty cool

Funkey Monkey

Familiars or Golems of some sort are the most obvious picks but golems made of crystals, books, scrolls, weird magical orreries etc or familiars in exotic or clearly magical shapes like a little imp with a book for a head or a bird with scrolls as wings could make for a fun twist.

Urazel

Adventurers and mercenaries.

Thannak

Different flavours of golem I think would make the most sense.

Gavin Biston

Book golem

Chris S

It could be cool if we had troops that looked a little like flying monkeys from OZ

Joel

Animated Objects, Crystal Golems, Enhanced or armored Dragonkin, amalgamations ( like simic hybrids or mewtwo) living lighting,

Nicholas Vidmar

How about some elementals?

Vengso

If your wanting to do more sci-fi as the last post suggested you could always add a geomancer (subtle tecnomancer) troop maybe something like a gem/crystal feuled battle-mage unit.

NotTheOctopus

Animated Objects Familiars Scholars Apprentices Hedge Wizards

Erica Wynters

I have always used a ware tiger as a bodyguard for my wizards

Quentin chism

Oh I forgot. MINIONS Like them in the Overlord games, all 4 versions please. ☻☹👿😈👹👺👻👽👾

Maik

illusions

George Corder

What about a terrain feature like magical traps?

richard haensch

Would love to see some Arcane Tricksters in there :)

Handsome Jordan

Apprentice wizards !

Jeff Tetlow

Elementals, golems or beastmen. Elementals and golems/constructs are the classic wizard companions. Beastmen - human/beast hybrids are experiments created in wizards lab to protect them.

Marko

Spectral weapons, summoned armor... It's not really troops but various automations always feel like the general standard for antisocial wizards

Ruka Amick

shadow summons

Fimb ul Kron

Constructs!

Daniel Vitti

Golems! Natural (Wood, bone, clay, stone) and metal (iron, brass, gold), and every other imaginable material. :)

John Wainscott

Wow people have some interesting ideas about what Wizards do. For me id say animated suits of armour, golems/statues, or some sort of mystical summon, but not demons since thats more occult and not undead since thats necromancy, and elementals seems more druidic.

Daniel Henry

Troops I guess that means 3-4 figures. You need great senses so an animal with darkvision, good smell would be good. I think big tiger lizards. A hybrid of tiger and lizard. Thick skin, great stealth, good senses, looks scary.

Lars Sundstrom

Constructs. Big. Badass

Richie

Hydrophobes! a la Rimworld.

eyflfla

space wizards

The Miniature Underground

Wizards with machine guns.

Rob Henderson

When it comes to magical wizard guilds I like to imagine all forms of elemental types and creations. Elemental servants like lightning, wind, Earth, ext. In addition to the animated sorts, or even some summons that have been bound to service. A wizard may be squishy, but that doesn't mean they need regular guards to patrol the halls of the guild. How about a bound Balrog in-front of the Guild masters chambers. What better way to show your status and power as a wizard than through your magical prowess.

Doom Sauce

Haemonculi and animated armors spring, I'm into that too. If something really unique would come of it then some animated dead. Just anything that would be really wizardy and you couldn't just pick from any other fantasy bundle.

MalkavianLogic

WATER WIZARD. Or I guess hydromancer if you wanna be technical...

Neight

Evil Children. Something along the lines of Children of the corn. We've seen the Lulus and we know you can do it. Just not so cute and a bit otherworldly.

John Wolf

Oh cool! But It kind of depends on what you already have planned, doesn't it? Do like a dozen small familiars, Cats, Owls, Bats, Spiders, Imps, and an animated broom stick! Elementals seem obvious, although doing the classic 4 seems like a bit too much variance for your troop slot. Golems or animated armor, or Homonculus would be alright Or just some low level magic initiates with a combination of wands, spell books and pointed hats. Ooh! Give them [not] Death Eater Tattoos! Dark Cowls and curved daggers and pentagram bases. mwahaha!

eyflfla

Perhaps gargoyles

David Acuna

Animated Suits of Armor or Swarms of Homunculi would be ripper.

Daniel Domeisen

Guard dog men

Richard Smeeton

Animated Armor/Constructs are good. Dragon-like creatures.

Michael O'Connor

exotic familiars, golems of different types. magical creatures

brian belmonte

too lazy to type in my own words, point is, we want the same thing, hope you dont mind ;)

Andrej Thurzo

Well if it is Wizards, then Golems of course. But animated armor is good too. A friendly Drake or Dragon perhaps. And of course, Heroes. Just plain old run of them mill guards to roam the keep and protect the guy. JMHO.

Thomas Sholar

Animated "armor", but more construct than simply armor. More grimdark: thralls, magically enslaved humans, probably blind, deaf, and/or mute. Lots of runes on their skin. Not really "troops", but familiar would be cool. However, not just owl, rat, imp, or raven, but more exotic stuff like Wolpertinger. Non humanoid mages, like Lamias, Sphinxes, or undead scarab folks like the Nerubians from world of warcraft

ammut

Animated armor WOULD be cool… I'm so new to 3D printing, I'm not sure how hard it would be to print visibly empty armor that's of the usual mini size… I'd like levitating marionettes, the spookier the better, and/or some creepy Lovecraftian summons crawling out of portals or something.

Alayna

Constructs are always good.

Ron Purvis

Big Ol' animated suits of armour would be cool

Gallo27

Spells/effects, animated armor, golems, beasts, or students. Any of these would be an acceptable answer I think.

NordicWolf

golems!

Fabio REMOALDO

Spell Effects/Wizard Spells. Maybe something that can shroud a 28/32mm mini to show an effect.

Matt

Animated armor would be cool, or maybe some fancy golems

Nick Schlekewey

Animated suits of armor and weapons would be cool

Scott wilson

Animated armour would be great

Dick Nagle

Depends on the nature of the wizards I guess. Is this good or evil? Good, I'd stick with elemental spirits, golem, etc. If evil then imps/demons, undead, etc. Another neat option could be people that have spell effects on them. Either auras or something obvious, like arms swollen to large size, odd/inconsistent animal morphs, fused weapons or the like.

John Lacy

- (fantastical) animals: owls, ravens, eagles, squirrels (why not?), mice, cats, unicorns - shapeshifting animals from the list above - half animal (from above) half man/ other animal - dragons / draconians - half tree half man - elves, humans, minotaurs - gargoyles - elementals - a ring of fire, water, whirlwind leaves with a human touch/parts

Marco van Deutekom

Mimics

Robert DeFlora

Home about some Eldritch Magic? Madness, fear, change... This way they could be troops and enemies, depending on the mage...

Angel M

I would love to see some kind of summoned swarms, empowered protectors in the form of animated armor, golem or elemental. Perhaps magically mutated beasts or gifted men. Really I think something that specifically shows a relationship between the trooper and the mage enhancing its ability to protect said mage.

James Bixler

Yeah, either a pseudo dragon or a faerie dragon would work too. https://images.app.goo.gl/czsrFK2XG7NbZsw56 https://images.app.goo.gl/Gi32Mabgdeqs4L7c9 https://images.app.goo.gl/DKvozfoVUhD3A2137

Rob Leonard

My first thought was a class of non-magical servants/assistants as a "screen of normality" to handle mundane physical matters. Thralls of some sort; warriors, bodyguards, spies, informants, slaves, etc. As a troop choice, I'd say 'Thrall Warriors'.

Korey Powell

Idk if this suits troops as well is it would characters, but I'd love to see a book drake/candle drake, a la the Midgard Book of Drakes.

Andrea Giargiari

Wild pets or Were creatures to protect the shaman/druid wizards(s) that I hope will be in the pack

Anthony Donovan

Creatures that only mages and wizards would have dealings with (successfully at least)! So golems an haemonculi are great, extra dimensional beings (I like the summoning portals idea), and other strange beings

Scott Evil

Magical constructs, like golem and Homunculi, but also things like warded terrain pieces with runes, traps and spell effects

Josh Nelson

Golems/ elementals/ animated armor / animated weapons

ResinandFilament

I'd like elementals, or if there are some warlocks part of the release Succubi

Chiral

Wild pets

Andreas Seyfried

Omg, YASSS!!! Okay, if you have a made wizard...I'm talking that eldritch mysteries broke his mind, needs to have coked out wizard apprentices.

John Weyen

We don’t know the other troops, so you can get lots of answers with units already done ^^’. By the way: Arcane Knight: Knight capable of using arcane magic (based on school they can have different appereance. Bone armors for necromancy, elemental or wood armor, metal armor, demonic armor for summoners). Animal Familiars / homunculus. Arcane Rangers. (with effects on their arrows like fire, wind, stone, energy) Alchemists: Like Full Metal Alchemist. Swordsingers: Elven swordmen - mages with light armors on them. Musicians: Mages that uses musical magic. Oracles: Mages that can see the future with divination Magicbreakers: Mages that can destroy magic near them (so effects like spells that are vanishing near them) Shadowporters: Mage assassins that uses shadows to fight. Dragon Knight: An order of mages with dragonscale armors that can use magic due to a pact with Dragons. Warlock: Mages that can use magic due to a pact with demons/aliens/old spirits/etc

Lind

I’m flattered

Christopher Barnes

Apprentices

Michael Dykes

Book bearers!

Benjamin Arndt

Golems and mecànics enginers

Valas

Haemoculi, elementals, constructs, or zombies and other undead being controlled by a necromancer would be pretty cool.

Sesshomuronay

As I've already seen a lot : Homunculi, demons , golems and elementals !

Arcangelo Daniaux

Elementals or golems. Or gargoyles?

Aces High

Warriors in big armor and with big shield enhanced with magical runes or such

Jérémy

War mages with wands - a mix of light armor and robes/tabard style, armed with wands, staves, and rods of power. perhaps a couple might have light weapons in off-hands? Constructs/Golems would be an obvious go-to - it would be great if they were also wielding magic-style armaments and not limited to normal weapons. Elementals, Infernal servants, and of course - undead for the Necromancers ;)

Wytch

sexy mage knights!

Aaron Vang

There’s a great very old citadel miniature that I think they are remembering. I would love a modern version of it

Etienne Paul

dwarf troops that are magic resistant, or Golems

The Threads team

For terrain it wpuld be great to see your taje on the mage tower idea. Every magic user needs a magic tower to use.

Bobby Blanding

Golems!

Alex Smith

Elementals

Thomas Kusch

I'm really mad that I never thought about book golem before, but whoever suggested it is a genius, so I’ll second that suggestion.

Purrito

Homunculi and/or Golems would be cool

Stephen Pfann

I'd like to see a magic elemental. Never seen one of those before.

Jim

Constructs/Warguards. Steampunk+Magic troops and creatures.

Ken Hylton

Oh that's good! I was thinking just kitties in armor holding daggers in their mouths

Alice

I like the idea of magic swordmasters/spellswords, gus with swords im one hand and a wizards grimoire in the other as well as arcane archers etc and of course just plain warlock magician units, maybe wizards on owlsfor cavalry?

Pitolek1993

If it involves cats, I am definitely in. 😻😻😸😸

nightlurker

Animated objects would be great. The Bookshelf comes to life. The alchemy set arms itself. The coat closet is here to strangle.

Roddy Novogradac

Spellsword Big buxom chicks in chainmail.

Gary Boyce

Cat familiars who have taken up arms to defend their masters! They aren't tabaxi, they are just actual cats with daggers in their mouths, and adorable little helmets. Or on a less silly note, summons like djin or lesser demons would make good wizard troops

Alice

The question is kind of hard to answer without having an idea of what troops and heroes are already included in the set. Do the heroes all look like practitioners of different forms of magic? If so are their troops also spell casters or are they more akin to magical servants/constructs/effects? Do the heroes all look more like they’d be instructors/officers of the guild practicing similar magic styles? If so do the troops look like they would be students/new members or more experienced specialists in a particular form of magical warfare? A guild which values magic of any/most forms with diverse spellcasters as leading figures would have the troops slots look vastly different from one which focuses on elemental, necromantic, or any other esoteric form of sorcery.

Richard Collier

Animated objects would be neat

Matthew Hetherington

Big buxom chicks in chainmail.

Steven Merrival

I like the spellsword suggestions. Good mercenary-esque models are always useful and find their way into lots of types of games

Broc Reed

Book golem! Have some books held together by magic energy as the golem

Alexander Gomez

Golems, Constructs (maybe reusable as warforged), or other long-term spell effects (things like walls of daggers, elementals, demiliches, will o' the wisps), please

Jamie Burrell

I’d quite like to see Templar guards (like Dragon Age)

Jonathan Hamstead

Apprentice/aide, likely with a spell gone wrong. Or victims either frozen or turned to stone.

Jens Christensen

Acolyths with Dagger and Wand or Staff.

Christian

My first thought was "chest-mimics", both because that is a classic DnD monster that I'd love to see your take on, and the question made me think of Rincewinds Luggage from the Diskworld-books. But I really don't know if its all that fun of a set if you don't get that reference :p Certainly, mimics are already plentyfull in the 3Dprinting community so maybe it would feel too much like a wasted slot for something more imaginitive.

whmchrish

Elementals, demons/imps, familiars, magical constructs, spectors

ModelNewbie

Golems come in mind. Living Armours, Ghostly Hounds, Living Spells and Magens. Magens are through the spell created humanoid constructs: https://media.comicbook.com/2020/09/magen-hed-1237054.jpeg?auto=webp&width=1200&height=628&crop=1200:628,smart

Michael Münch

Golems or other elementals?

Seth Swanson

Gun mages! Mages with flintlocks and rune bullets

Simon Gibbs

Not really troops but...different types of familiars, different types of portable housing other than tents. My group has a war elephant with a pagoda they live in on top of it. That would be cool.

Beth Dellapenta

I would like sort of apprentice/in-training wizards. Would be really handy for RPG games

James Berryman

Either apprentices / interns or elementals, but I’d really love the apprentices!

Scruffy Beast

I like Tim's idea of arcane constructs, golems, animated stuff. Spell effects are cool too.

DMmeepo

How about some spell effects reminiscent of that “Grimdark Game” that just released a 3.0 version. Maybe something that could be proxies for their “Everlasting Spells” or just cool looking spell effects to go with them…specifically something for the “Thunder Brothers” and the “Cruel Swamp Monkeys” in the new boxed set. Or hey, maybe that’s a future release? I’d love to see your proxies for some “Cruel Swamp Monkeys”!

Andrej Thurzo

Elemental or creature summons for protection would be cool. Magic folk tend to be squishy. Also if it all magic units some cool spell effects to go along with the miniatures would be awesome as well.

Caleb

Familiars / spirit animals

Farleyap

Are there different troops based on the school of magic? Necromancers have undead, summoner have elementals/jinn, etc

Dwayne Hinton

Not a suggestion on what it would be theme wise... but what would make me happiest? - MODULAR TROOPS. swappable hands/weapons and heads so I can make more things from the same unit etc

Joey D

Familiar spirits, empowered aninals, or entities chained to their vomit would be fine. Thanks and good luck

Samuel Vazquez Franco

I'd really love some spellswords or bladesingers of some sort as mentioned above.

Matthew Wood

Sentient Broom Minions (Thanks Fantasia)

Eric Chan

Mix energy creations with animals. thinking like HP patronus but aggressive or menacing

Brian Nance

Arcane Constructs

Tim Yore

I believe “Thunder Brothers” spell stuff would fit well with wizards “lightning, hammers like from this month’s release, clouds, etc…”. If there is a poison, death, or necromancer type wizard, then poison clouds, potion bottles, cauldrons, dripping nasty liquids would be great…

Christopher Barnes

In my husband's D&D world mages are protected by the Knights of the Green Rose. So I'd love a knight or 3 with a rose motif. But I know that's pretty niche and specific

Ruth Hyatt

Spirits / Ghosts of old Knights protecting the magic tower even after death

Maik

Some Aurors pls

Falco

Blade Singer, a warrior with Magic.

Emeric Pierrard

How about some spell effects reminiscent of that “Grimdark Game” that just released a 3.0 version. Maybe something that could be proxies for their “Everlasting Spells” or just cool looking spell effects to go with them…specifically something for the “Thunder Brothers” and the “Cruel Swamp Monkeys” in the new boxed set. Or hey, maybe that’s a future release? I’d love to see your proxies for some “Cruel Swamp Monkeys”!

Christopher Barnes

Loved the sentient animal comment above, something like familiars/animals would be really cool! The animated objects is also super fun, I would totally give my wizard living broom guards! 😂 Bring on the whimsy!

Jenks

Cat Familiars with a twist is a great idea. Large elemental / mash up cats would suuuper cool.

Aczel SK

Oversized dogs, or half-tame wolves

Andrew

sexy cultist witches

Warren Beall

Young acanists interns, messy and half trained. They could be frightened or plainly cool 😎

Raphaël Cottier

Can't have magic without a cat of some sort.....Dragon kitty?

Rebecca E Laura

Homunculi?

DaBroni

Arcanic Guardian : Kind of golem that looks like 9 feets tall armors covered with Runes

Stephane Dietkiewicz

Walking brooms with weapons

DevRow

Constructs. A variety though of mecha-magical creatures.

BrotherGlacius

semi-sentient weapons, Gollum's/constructs, summoned ethereal beasts, Chimera/experimental creatures, thralls, non-magical men at arms.

Patrick Price

Animated objects

Steve Jones

A guardian animal. Eagle, owl, maybe a wolf or a large cat species.

Richard Morse

Haemonculi!!

Javi

Magic Knights!

Liberty

I imagine a unit of arcane elementals

Ryan Hall

Spell Slayers - anti-magical wizard assassins

Michael Finigan

I like the spell effects idea. Also perhaps less troops and more school of magic students? Some fighting some in training? I also think a group of evil wizard's working together would be cool

Tyler Goodwin

Troops disguised as Aztec deities . . . sorry, I keep trying

stevo cuello

Magic armor that walks around, elementals, enchanted knights, golems.

Chris Cox

Magic shield casting wizards who are creating a dome/bubble for other soldiers.

Adam Beck

Some clearly summoned, ethereal looking creatures and animals. As much I dislike using Harry Potter as the default, Patronus is a brilliant idea for Wizard's combat companions.

CaptivePlague

Clockwork troops or elementals!

Solomon

Anything to stand beside the Wizards, familiars, elementals, students, wicked/dark counterparts. Looking forward to the release!

Kristian

Golems 😍😍😍

Ragody Anthony

why not a style of "stealth" assassin that emerges from the shadows and One Shoot the enemy? ;)

Veraghen JC

I know it’s not a unit but how about a portable hut or spell effects like portable hole, rope trick. Summon weapon etc

Michael Wernert

One wizard of every element with different Magic inforced Weapons. A burning swort, water orb , Stone fighting gloves and one with levitating boots (wind). Mages who found their way to use their elemental magic in a diffrent way to fight

Benial

A small company of ceremonial troops like the Swiss guard

Aubrey Ramage Lay

Elementals or clockworks

Axel Stengel

Animated Armours or Statues.

David Millington

Armed Acolytes, Elementals, Constructs, Battle Mages, Enchanted Suits of Armor, Familiars, Summoned Demons, Thralls

Steven Berryessa

Animated armors, to screen the casters from danger.

Dennis Andersen

What about some kind of Summoners ? With small beasts crawling out of Portals?

Lux Blubblub

Literally just shields with legs

Waide Robinson

I think some sort of golem or homunculi make sense.

Sean Whitley

this could be a whole monthly release!

Blake Winters

Different sets of animated armour, clockwork/warforge styled warriors, or enslaved devils and demons

CaptainCorgi

Animated armours get my vote for sure!

Kyle Bentley

Battlemages, hooded, armored mage unit with military training

Soulsick1988

Smaller constructs would be logical as the wizards don't have to risk themselves. Considering many wizards have decades if not centuries of experience, most wouldn't want to risk it on the battlefield.

David Lindberg

Elementals

V Verdouw-Olges

Feline familiars on flying books or scrolls

Raymond Rappaport

Mages mounted on spiritual beasts (like ethereal mounts)

Pablo Jara Barría

Familiars/Homunculus/sentient animal servants walking upright in clothes/apprentices. Please let there be a Witch or Necromancer in there as well. Maybe animated stuff like books with wings.

Glitterwolf

Spellblades

Matthew Jolly

Combat familiars

Randy Hightower

A pseudo dragon familiar lol

james moore

Totally agree, water and fire elementals would be great!

James Joseph Vowell

wizards apprentice

Blake Winters

Animated lab-objects

Marc Schneider

Some form of construct -metal golem, shield guardian kind of idea.

Alois

Animated broomsticks

Rob L

Skeletons & zombies

Gavin Butstraen

Not elementals! Thats been done to death. I agree with other posts that suggest autonomotons or some type of constructs.

Ryeguy

Spellblades you know mages that cast spells trough ther blades and not wands

Diana hjorth

Spellswords/magus types. I also like the idea of elementals.

Benjamin Kauer

Gargoyles

Gavin Butstraen

Sexy Summoned Demons!

James Joseph Vowell

A squad of scribes and apprentices. Super characterful but definitely more 'aspirants' who aren't suited to the battlefield yet. Wand-wielders - So - Basically minions or soldiers with some hereldry but wielding wands. (Basically bestowed upon them by the wizards)

Narrator Dave

Werecats / Puss in Boots. Like cute cats fightig with sword and shield.

Mergoth

Items that have been made magically sentient. Like mickeys broom stick army type of thing. Random Different items that could also be used as mimics or whatever else would be cool. Or maybe a group of defectors that can fight against the wizards or be used as like the black ops squad of magic users.

David Watts

Agree with everyone, golems is the way to go.

Irisknife

Golems or animated armor

Studio Silvernale

Animated inanimate objects

Carnifexic

things they animate? like golems they keep in the corner till needed. or things they resurect (necromancer style)

Andrew moeller

This +1

Benjamin Kauer

I would say golems or some kind of elementals would be perfect.

Agent Dex

Absolutely golems. Some Bladesingers as well would be awesome. Maybe Animated / floating shields?

John Brennan

Shield guardianesque golems?

Amber Jordan

Magical automata could be cool

Joshua

Flesh golem

Raven

Some hooded battlemages would be very cool.

Jonathan Morales
