Looking for a quality printing resin for your minis?

We don't do this very often but we wanted to share this awesome resin called Vulcan. This resin has been developed with the 3D printing community in mind to support creators, customers and models alike.

Vulcan is a game-changing resin:
- It has excellent high detail and flexibility
- ABS like durability for everyday use and shipping
- Clean support removal
- It’s made in USA
- It’s better for the environment, using way less packaging in durable spout bags

Our collaborator William is one of the mastermind behind this project and printed our Einherjar Viking Warrior (from our July's collection Viking Gods and Heroes) and our Clairiel, Angel of Resurrection (from our collection Angels of the Empyrean) and the results are amazing!

PS: they already sold 1000 bags so as a thank you, everyone pledging now gets an extra model of their choice 🙂

Let's heat up the 3D printer!

On the Kickstarter page is stated “with all taxes and duties included”. This for me means that they will pay any custom clearance if needed. They will probably ship the product in a European storage and from that ship to every customer. This is an hypothesis, but it remains the fact they said they will pay the duties. I will ask a question with this direct problem on the KS page, but for me there are already enough information to trust them. This is not the first KS project I back from US that state “EU friendly” and arrive to me without any additional cost. And Italian customs stops almost every American shipping like the German one. As example I stopped buy from Society6 for this reason. Let’s see if they answer directly.

That you will taxes on that IF it comes threw. In Germany our customs are becoming really really stingy. On the that what you ordered you will pay a good amount in taxes.

Michael Münch

What are you talking about? I am a backer Italy based and I am spending 4 dollar to ship 6kg of resin (4 bags) in Italy. 4 dollars in total. I usually spend 10$ to ship within my own region (20km away from me). How can 4 dollars be considered not UE friendly?

Gianluca Foroni

Sadly US based, so nothing for the european market. Too costly to order here.

Michael Münch

this picture is probably not a good one to use to advertise a resin brand, this print is aweful, the base is not even and there are potchmarks all over the model and the detail looks really bad and rough

David Aleshire

Ah ok, that's understandable, although if you are talking about uncured resin, the toxicity is the same for both types of resin, it only matters when cured (because one is biodegradable and not the other)

Axel Stengel

For me the reduced toxicity is a huge priority, in large part because we have pets in the house and even with precautions resin can be messy to work with before and after printing. At this point I don't think I would buy non-plant-based resin for that reason (unless a similarly non-toxic resin was available).

Andrea Giargiari

I don't think so but the main argument is to have a 1,5 kg bag so less bottles (I've never seen anything bigger than 1kg for a conventional resin) and have the bag be made with better materials. Also I really don't think that eco-friendly/plant based resin are that exo friendly, the steps required to make plant based resin consume about the same amount of energy as traditional resin. The biggest difference is that plant based resin can is non toxic to the environment after curing (for exemple it can be left in the ground without polluting) so it's not really important for a mini-centered resin. Although I agree that if it was possible it would have been better.

Axel Stengel

It talks about being eco-friendly based on the packaging material, but is the resin itself plant-based or otherwise eco-friendly? If not, that's a pretty significant contradiction :/

Andrea Giargiari

already back them, i cant wait!
