PRODUCTION JOURNALS - "Grubba's Origin" [ANIMATIC] (STILL UPDATING)

Boy, it's been a bit since I've sunk my fangs into an animatic.

So this was entirely based on when a friend changed their name and PFP to Jolene from The Thousand-Year Door, so I reacted by getting a bunch of photos of Grubba, and "flirting" with him. We had sort of a role-play and scummy Grubba was making me laugh my rear off so much that I wanted to make a whole animatic around him, and why he is the way he is.

Here's some excerpts of my half of the DMs. With some colorful clarifications.

 Two of these actually made their way into the animatic, since I sent them over to a VA pal of mine, asking if they can do a scummy Foghorn voice with these... and this champion of the vocal tubes did it.

This man is Maxwell Flinch, the same voice from the Pokémon Serenivine Islands Bit "Gengar's Pie Prank". Ya like voices, he's certainly got one!

And things just fell into place to well to NOT do this horrid thing. The universe called to me, handing me this sludge of an idea on a silver platter.

The person who was RPing as Jolene historically wanted to do voice work for me at some point, and I figured since he sparked this idea within me, I'd like him to be Jolene some more. (Clarification, it's not a dig at trans girls, and the Jolene RP-er referred to himself as a boy. Happy Pride!)

I'm still waitin' on the Jolene VA to record his lines. So a little workaround had to be done, and had the two bustin' open walnuts-- as well as Grubba's sister being a walnut in sunglasses and a fedora. I also remembered that Grubba was a contestant, so I made his younger self much more built.

This is turning out more cursed by the second, and I'm here for it. And I sure hope YOU'LL be here for it as I update this page more.

I initially drew a barrel chest, forgetting how Grubba's lost his form. Oops.

I changed this face.

To give this a stronger silhouette, I raised the Koopa's arm here.

ALSO, this Koopa's voiced by our very own FanOfCulture96! This is his first role as a VA, so we're breaking new ground up in here. I'm getting close to completion with both this and the Vi Bit, which I'll be posting the WIP for that in it's page momentarily.
