God this takes me back

I don't know if I ever noticed the poster for "sleepy time drink" over the road from the museum before... maybe that's why Wallace was so out of it during the heist, the penguin slipped him cocoa!

I always remember an old Simpsons line where Nelson says "In science class, they're dissecting frozen hobos and I have the bindles to prove it." - that's when I learned what they were called!

I found Josh's reaction to the penguin so funny too and referring to him as 'dude' and 'little guy' tickled me for some reason 😁 I wasn't sure how this would go down for reactions but I've really been enjoying it so far. It's definitely funnier with Josh's reactions imo.

He might do, as he did a reaction to the Detectorists movie the other day. Would be great if he does do a reaction ❤️

For anyone curious about how they made the train chase scene, he’s what the creator Nick Park said: “The train chase is something I'd never seen done before in stopframe animation. None of us knew how to do it – or even if it could work. In Tom and Jerry chases, you used to get the background whizzing by and repeating itself, so we tried the same. We built a 20ft long living room wall, 2ft high, and fixed the camera to the train, and filmed on a long shutter speed so the background looked blurry. It was quite a feat.” From this article: https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2014/mar/03/how-we-made-wallace-and-gromit

This is definitely one of my favourite reaction videos you’ve done 😄 Loved how hilarious you found the penguin (Feathers McGraw)! You kept mentioning how they managed to make him look so menacing - it’s his beady, black eyes that do it! He’s making a comeback this Christmas, with a new short film, “Vengeance Most Fowl”. Apparently it’s going to be on Netflix internationally, so you should be able to watch it 😁 The train chase is phenomenal 👏🏼❤️ The music, the comedy aspect to it, the insanity of the penguin…also the little details, like Wallace’s ears flapping in the breeze, and the cylinder on the revolver *actually* revolving! I’m curious about the version you watched, because the original version that aired on TV played “Happy Birthday” from Gromit’s card (like it does in this video), but later on it was changed to “He’s A Jolly Good Fellow” because of copyright issues (also with some of the songs the penguin played on the radio). It was a pleasant surprise to hear the original song!

Every Wallace and Gromit movie was up for an Oscar. Only the first one didnt win. Every other Wallace and Gromit movie won an Oscar

Danny

I always love how expressive they manage to make Gromit in these, when he has no mouth and his eyebrows and ears are doing all the work. 🤨 😄

'The Wrong Trousers' is a common pick for people's favourite short, but personally I think the next one tops it, albeit slightly :) Also I saw those hobo bags in cartoons many times when I was little, but it was only recently I learned they're called bindles!

David Lyons

The train chase in one of the most iconic pieces of animation ever. When they were making ‘Toy Story’, they kept referring to the train chase when they were making the final scene with Buzz and Woody chasing after the moving truck.

Daniel Davies

This one won an Oscar for best animated short.

John Taylor

I don't know if you'll end up doing Curse of the Wererabbit with it being a movie, but if not I do hope you watch it in your own time sometime, it's very very enjoyable and has some very witty writing. I think it was an exceptional adaptation to the big screen, though after Chicken Run they'd already proved they could make good movies.
