Thanks for this! I think my favorite part of Diablo is the tension in the vocal melody/topline. In the first verse, the vocal comes in on the second beat of the measure the first three times, and then I think of the rhythm of the topline as playing a game of expectation with the listener. I think this tension is continued in the back-and-forth of the chorus vocals, the "love me" kinda call and response section. I'm really looking forward to the album podcast!
