I mentioned the weird glitch at the end of the Top 5 List video in the previous post but I wanted to save the story behind it for its own post.
It started out as a legit mistake
For this video, I actually recorded the voice-over before recording any footage for it. This made it easier to capture the correct footage segments since I already knew what I needed for the video.
Once I started editing in Kdenlive, I listened to the voice-over and realized that I said "impossible for the end-user to screw up the system" without any footage to back my statement up.
Needless to say - you can screw things up if you run sudo rm -rf ./* on the root file system.
But as you all know, I hate re-recording voice-overs so I decided to make a spoof of it.
In the image above, you can see I used Kdenlive and overlayed 3 tracks - the video and 2 audio; my voice and the music.
The video effect is "Cartoon" which seems to distort everything based on two parameters.
The voice-over started at 102% speed and gradually slowed down to 92%, and the music track was "stretched" until it started glitching and ended with that weird popping/skipping sound.
Overall, this was a simple and fun way of goofing on my own mistake whilst hopefully making the video interesting for everyone!
