Its kinda hard to believe its already been three years, and also hard to believe its ONLY been three years. I feel like I'm in a very peculiar place with both the comic and my life at the moment- I'm not working so I have time aplenty for art and writing, and the story is hitting something I've been trying to write through for a long time. While I made silly little comics as a teenager, this is my first shot at a long running one. Admittedly, some of my initial plans didn't pan out with blbl- some of that is for the best, though some of it i'll be trying to integrate going forward. This has been a MASSIVE experiment in learning for me, I can't deny my art's leveled up an incredible amount since the beginning, and so has my ability to write. Something I keep fighting with a little is that I have to reconcile my unskilled writing at the beginning with where I currently am. There's a lot of things I could've done differently and better (of course, at the time that wasn't possible, the skills weren't there yet) but that is just a lesson to carry forward.
Chapter 7 is the last in what I'm calling the first act of blbl. There isn't necessarily a planned 3 act structure, but there's a turning point just around the corner and I'm kind of chomping at the bit to get to. I'm trying my best not to rush through this part of the story, since Its been a long time coming, but I can't help but want to look ahead.... I hope you feel the same.
