Posting Preferences for Patron Shows

Can you help me get some information on how you consume the patron content?

Patreon doesn't make it streamlined for us to post content that is both podcast and video. We often need to post a video version of a show and then a seperate post of the show so that it gets out to you as a podcast.

Can you help guide us on how to post that is better for you...

THANK YOU SO MUCH

I tend to listen to audio podcasts over video but I do like to watch Know it Alls & Exit Interviews on youTube if I have the time. One issue I have is finding the video version on my youTube page. The Patron only videos do not appear on my youtube page automatically. I have to go to the Patreon page first which is not possible from my TV youTube app.

Anna Salguero

Really appreciated all the feedback here

Rob Cesternino

Same!

RaganNC

Specifically to Latron content, I usually just listen. But I watch KIA, Traitors coverage, etc. on YT.

Michelle Mayer

I listen to a lot of podcasts, when there is video, like patron feedback I like video, but usually click the link to open it in YouTube.

Carl Friesen

Double post is best!

Matt Breuer

The only YT pod I watch is w/the eliminated Survivor so I can see what they look like now. The rest of my RHAP existence is all via audio.

Jeff Hysen

I prefer to watch everything on YouTube. I often forget to listen to the Audio only podcasts. It would be nice if they were on YouTube as audio only with a private link in the Patron FB group. I rarely launch Patreon to watch or listen. If it's audio only I typically use the old RHAP App but I typically forget to do that and I'm weeks behind on the Patron 5 for 5.

Mike

I always watch through the YouTube link so I can watch on my TV, and also can easily put it into a playlist so I can stack them to watch one after another.

KathieA

I always watch video on YouTube instead of patreon if I can

vcarly

I prefer to watch on YouTube so I get a bigger picture than watching on my laptop. Sometimes I can do that easily and a few times I have tried and can only watch on my laptop.

Heidi Kappa

I listen to RHAP almost exclusively through YouTube.

Samantha Proud

I usually only watch podcast videos. For example I unfortunately forget about The Weekend Program all the time because it’s not on YouTube

Katie Sheely

I only listen to audio. I have never seen even 1 video. I follow at least 7 podcasts and listen while commuting, cooking and cleaning.

Barbara Walker

I personally pay for Youtube premium and wish that all of the podcasts would go up there whether there is video or not. I like to throw it on the TV while I am working or lying down

Phillip Marshall

I usually only watch the video

annastasia greene

I almost never watch on YouTube, when I do it is extremely frustrating with all the adds constantly, I tried watching the RANAAP I felt like I was constantly having g to skip all the adds, so many more than on the podcasts.

Amber Nielsen

I'm so glad you asked because I'm so much more likely to watch if you are able to connect it to a YouTube link so I can watch it on my TV.

Amy Bonner

We can turn ads off on the video

Rob Cesternino

I have YouTube Premium and keep my playlists there. I do some patron content audio and the rest I prefer a YT link. I almost never watch videos in Patreon because my YT queue is full and I forget videos are here

D

I prefer YouTube links. The viewing experience on YouTube is just better because if I have to pause and come back to it later, it saves my place. Patreon doesn't do that.

Hector Acevedo

I always go to YouTube, big part of the fun is seeing everyone react with each other, seeing Rob laugh is worth the price of admission. I listen to podcasts next to never.

Larry Fuchsberg

I like the video versions on youtube and patreon. I do listen to the ones that don't have video though.

Jody Davis

I am a podcast only girlie. So I appreciate if you prioritize links and posts to podcasts. Only time I watch video have been some of the games (Watchtower for example).

Elizabeth

This is a me problem, but it drives me a little crazy when I can't find the YouTube link easily because I like to add videos to my watch later playlist (I am always behind). If you do separate posts for audio and video, that's totally fine as I know some people prefer to watch in the patreon app. I would just appreciate if the YouTube link is still easily accessible in one or both posts.

Sophie Wolman

same here

Kim D

I do both - it depends on the podcast. Some podcasts that have pictures or videos, I will try and watch the YouTube version but I also like to listen when I'm driving and tend to audio only. YouTube does have some oddly placed ads - right in the middle of a conversation. Thanks for all the content!

Pam Kasinetz

Same here. I do not have time to watch. I will watch if there’s a whole Lotta references to interesting photos.

Dorothy Kurz

I’m 100% audio only on all pods so I just listen through a separate feed on Overcast. I’ve never listened to or watched a podcast in the Patreon app so I’m not going to vote.

Kristan Marie

Ik in minority but YouTube has too many ads i like watching the videos here if I can

Eric Meyer

As video because more and more common, you do start to feel like you miss out on the audio on my version, for example cast photos and showing tik Tok videos. I would say RHAP is better than a lot of places that don't bother to describe things for audio listeners. But when I can't watch I do feel like I am missing out. One thing also is that I like to watch YouTube on my Roku but there doesn't seem to be a way to find patron only videos there so I have to start it on my phone and hope YouTube keeps the video in my recently played on the app.

Leah Weber

For what it’s worth, the YouTube video works the same as a podcast even on my phone. It still plays outside the app, and I can hide the video if I need to use my phone.

Max Zambrano

This is exactly how I feel, I never watch the videos.

Heather MacKay

Videos on the patreon app tend to glitch for me much more often than YouTube. I’m more likely to watch the visual version of a podcast if there’s a YouTube link personally!

Emily Little

I never watch patron stuff as videos, but if I did a YouTube link would be fine.

Laura Cherry

Whatever makes it easier for your team. You all work so hard and I don't want to give you extra work if it is unnecessary.

Maryam McCallum

I never watch the videos. With audio I can listen while doing something, like driving, housework, or getting ready. Who’s got the time to watch videos?!

Lisa MacDonald

I'm fine with whatever, but the upside of videos on Patreon is that they don't have ads like on YouTube.

Tara Renee

I typically like to watch the video when possible, but usually do that on Youtube, so doesn't matter much to me either way. Whatever is easier for y'all! :)

Michael Horn

I consume most of my content on youtube on my TV but the video portion of Patreon works just fine. In recent months the way youtube sorts things is weird. I've been getting a lot of suggestions for podcasts from 4 years ago when I first type Rob Has a Podcast

Allie Slinger

I do 99% audio only, so I just use the subscriber feeds.

AmyCook

I hate how YouTube sorts the ep. In the podcast audio side but the videos are fine for me. I have premium

Liss Timm

How is watching a video we post to patreon?

Rob Cesternino

I’d rather watch a video but unfortunately, YouTube is not as smooth and seamless as podcast technology apparently. And most of my listening is when I’m on the go. And if I happen to touch the screen or jiggle my phone in my handbag, it can stop the YouTube video or send it back to the beginning or disappear it completely so I end up just listening to an audio podcast For convenience sake but whatever you decide, I love RHAP and I am thrilled with every bit of content I can find there

Tulip

I have never watched a single video version of any podcast i'm subscribed to. Not since the OG Know it Alls when there were very few other podcasts I subscribed to. Audio Only.

Brendan

I voted for the separate audio & video because not all pods have both. And I wouldn't think to read the description to find out if there is a video option & there are some pods I prefer to watch on video. So unless it's super obvious (like it's mentioned in the first few words of the description or in the first minute of the pod), I worry I wouldn't know there's a video.
