Callisto 0.50 - Week 10 Update

The work on the lewd animations took a little bit of a turn this week. As I converted several of these from image sequences to playable animations some issues were identified. One was related to posing, where I had to rework the animation of the Captain's left arm on one range of animations. The relative positioning of the hand and the love interests body shifted significantly between key frames and did not produce a desirable result. Another related to the use of a smoothing modifier on the bed, messing up the application of the texture on the headboard. Finally a glitch in Daz 4.12, where it failed to save the animated morphs applied to the hair asset. For this one I had to redo the morphs in Daz 4.11. As a result, I did not create any additional lewd animations during the week, however instead corrected 23 I had already done. It also meant that several of the image sequences created were discarded.

Despite the slight hiccups above, the animation renders continue and progress was still made. Currently I am getting roughly 200 frames / day. Total animation frames as below did not increase by quite this amount, as several hundred frames were discarded due to issues. The increase in completed animations from last week was modest as I had to discard some and the ones rendered have high frame counts.

With conversion of the image sequences to animations, I also spent significant time trying to optimise the post processing of the images. With my current image software, I was not getting the results I was desiring, which then lead me to procuring Luminar 4 with Patreon funds. This software allows batch processing, custom saving of image adjustment templates and a wider arrange of image tweaks. Another nice feature of this program is the ability to do sky replacement. This will allow me optimise the lighting for the foreground rendering and then drop a sky into the image in post processing. This should improve the quality of any outdoor scenes.

With the frustration encountered with the animations, I elected to do some work on the third Kara backstory. This will fill the gap between the previous backstory and the situation we find Kara in during the prologue. Started this a couple of days ago and should be able to complete tomorrow.

I will endeavour to close out the lewd animation posing next week which will then allow additional focus on the miscellaneous stories. There is still the strip club animations to tackle, however as mentioned before I will space these out. Development time this version is extending further than I would like, however with it comes more content. In a few weeks, I will post the road map / task list to close out this version. I don't foresee any roadblocks, just a large amount of work remaining.

Sorry to hear, but it will be awesome in the end once they all get done properly. This is a great game so it will be worth the wait.
