Short Update

Hey all -

I was starting the process of organizing content and creating a new masterpost with links, but an unexpected medical situation has come up with my dog and it's just caused chaos for the last few days. It's not entirely resolved yet, but I will be back posting and sharing content as soon as possible; I just wanted to let you know and apologize for the delay.

On another note, I updated the female body hair file a few days ago, and after editing I sent a notification to patrons to let them know about the edit. I'm really curious to know how many members found it was a suitable way to let them know about updates? I may have to resort to 'update posts' to tell users I've edited something, but I wanted to try this out first. I'd really love any feedback you have about how this felt and if you have a preference for how I do this going forward.

Also, I've started adding content to Collections. If you're not aware, Collections is a Patreon feature that organizes posts into categories of my choosing. I've created two collections, Clothing and Body Hair, but they're not entirely finished yet (I was working on this when the situation came up with my dog). Feel free to check them out, and know that I'll be adding further collections, assigning content to those collections, and making sure all of that content features the most up-to-date version of the file. I hope you find them easy to navigate and helpful in finding specific types of content.

All the best,
Simdulgence

I wonder if they're phasing out tags in favor of using Collections? I assume that's part of their overall plan. And thank you - I'm hoping the same!

Simdulgence

I still see the tags on the bottoms of posts, but there used to be tag categories at the top of the mainpage, but those are all gone on every sims patreon. And I hope with all my heart its just a bad med reaction and he'll recover soon :)

Really? I've been tagging my posts for a long time, and I still see those tags at the bottom of my posts (or grouped in a list at the bottom of my Collections page), and none of my recent posts seemed to have disappeared. I know Patreon sometimes makes changes without notifying people, but I'm not seeing this one on my side. Unless we're talking about two different things? I'm sorry to hear about Calvin. I completely understand the struggle of knowing when it's the "right time", and it's something I questioned a lot when my dog was at his worst over the summer. His recent issue appeared out of the blue, and he seemed to be getting better for about 24 hours, but now he's doing worse and I strongly suspect it's the medications they've given me for him. I'm just trying to monitor it and hoping for the best. Thanks for your kind words. ❀️

Simdulgence

Sometimes I hate my inbox too lol. What's most important is that people know that I've updated something, and can then fairly easily find it after that. If going forward, you find yourself not knowing I've updated something, please let me know so I can take that feedback into account!

Simdulgence

Thank you very much! ❀️

Simdulgence

Awesome! I'm glad to hear it's proved helpful for most people.

Simdulgence

That's great to hear! And thank you!

Simdulgence

Glad to hear it worked well for you - thank you!

Simdulgence

This is great information to know! Thank you. I'm going to try to do it this way and monitor feedback going forward.

I noticed tagged posts have suddenly disappeared from all of Patreon. I guess the collections thing will work too, but will be tedious for creators who have been active here a long time. Blessings to you and your fur baby. I hope they recover, but please consider the quality of life, and if that outweighs the need to hold on. It never gets easier, my last cat Calvin went downhill fast, losing weight, peeing in the wrong place, and these horrible face infections. At one point we realized his suffering was worse, and out desires to hold onto him were only making that suffering worse. We still haven't gotten a new cat, he lived to be 22, and the hole he's left cannot be easily filled by another cat or any pet. So I feel as if I can understand where you are right now. I'm sitting with you and listening and holding your hand.

Sending all good vibes to your doggo! As for notifications, I check Patreon probably more frequently than I really dig into my email (i hate my inbox). The new notification feature helps.

I really hope your pup is doing better. Big hugs for both of you.

Here's hoping the dog gets better soon! I had an email with the subject line "Simdulgence updated their post Female Body Hair" and it included the text of the post. So was ideal for me.

I received the notification yesterday it worked just fine for me! I hope your puppy gets better πŸ™β€οΈ

Sorry to hear about your dog. The update notification was fine for me. I'll check out the Collections. Sounds interesting!

Hey, I hope your dog's health improves quickly. Regarding the update post for the female body hair, personally I think it was perfectly suitable. The way it comes through is as an email from Patreon with the subject, "Simdulgence updated their post Female Body Hair". The fact that you added a Changelog at the bottom gives a good insight into what was changed. For me, this works. Collections sound like a great solution to the clothing and body hair mod problem.
