Yep, Fortuna is an elf which means that her brother(Emilia's father) also must be an elf with silver hair. Emilia's father is already 100% pure elf so her mother has to be a human in order to have a child that is a half elf.

Junichi Suwabe voices Sukuna, Grimmjow, Hector, Aizawa, Barou, and many other iconic characters. Also yeah, huge translation error. The subtitle should be Warlock of Melancholy, not Devil of Melancholy. Warlock is the word used for male witches, meaning Hector is the 9th "Witch" who represents Melancholy. The Japanese word (魔人 Majin) is a gender-neutral equivalent of Witch (魔女 Majo). If you translate the word Majin via a translator, it gives devil instead of warlock though, causing confusion. Due to The Sanctuary Arc being so big in the light novel, a lot of stuff is cut out and even then, the anime has 30 minute long episodes with no intro or ending song. One detail that you can infer but is clearly stated in the light novel is that the "fairies" that led Emilia to the Seal were created by Pandora. Fun Fact: Roswaal's first defeat was to Hector, which caused him to lose Echidna. This resulted in him adapting Hector's clothing style and even his mannerisms, they sound almost the same when ending their sentences, all in order to never forget the weakness he showed that day. That's where Roswaal started believing in weakness, humans are so utterly weak that they can only cling to one precious thing. He discarded his humanity in order to compete with witch factors, which results in the broken man we see today.

2025-01-06 17:23:34 +0000 UTCIf I'm not mistaken, the subtitle should have said Warlock of Vanity, not Devil. Another thing, based on what Fortuna said, Emilia gets her silver hair from her father, not her mother. So if she's telling the truth, Satella is not Emilia's mother.
