This was a portrait of someone first, even though I rarely do that anymore for various reasons. One is that when I just paint someone spontaneously, which I did in series a couple of years ago as an experiment and just for the fun of it, it generates a real heap of requests from people that want to be painted as well, some even felt entitled to be painted. Which kills the fun in a hurry. As does the assumption that it would be for free. :D Anyway, I thought I'd just do it, but when I'd be done I'd change her into someone else. Which I did. The reason why I painted her in the first place was that she's quite striking, like a character from a show like Elvira Mistress of the Dark from decades ago. I couldn't resist. Even though the photos she posted are almost all from the same angle and with the same expression (not this one :D) Posting the original is easier to resist. I like how this turned out regardless. I hope you do too.
