When Alan begins dating a cooking instructor, both him and Charlie begin to pack on weight. Though, this episode seems to be going differently than you remember.

I like that. And have Merton rationalize Tommy's weight gain as seasonal changes in weight, since Tommy is like the Northern Timber Wolf, as Merton pointed out in the episode.

Like say the two fat guys (Tim and Travis Eckert) hunting the main character (Tommy Dawkins) in the retake actually discover that he's the werewolf early on but decide to pull an "We won't reveal that you're The Pleasantville Werewolf but you gotta do as we say" which leads to both Tim & Travis basically fattening up Tommy (His werewolf appetite not helping matters at all) until soon Tommy is way fatter then both of them.
