Yep, Rudeus himself didn’t give a good first impression at the start. But one of the main themes of Mushoku Tensei and what makes the series well regarded is how Rudeus grows not just as a person but also how he reflects on his previous life. Second Chances and self redemption is the main core of the show in my opinion, which is why I consider Rudeus Greyrat as one of my favorite male characters in fictional media, along several others like Izumi Miyamura (Horimiya), Syaoran Li (Cardcaptor Sakura), and Yu-Yu Kondo as a few examples. = w =
