Wolf Children | Full Length Reaction

Comments

This is one of the most beautiful movies I've ever seen. This was my fourth time seeing it (I think?), and I'm going to have to call my mom now. I don't cry in movies, but this brings me to the brink of tears every time. Don't be too hard on Ame, he is only 10 years old. As a teenager and even in our early twenties it's really easy to get lost in our lives and forget to appreciate everything our parents did for us. Sad as this anime gets, what really gets me is just how heartwarming it is. It's the pure love shining through every second of this movie that makes it special to me.

sorry it took so long but it should be fixed now! :)

VKunia

Yes! I will do it whenever I get a chance:)

VKunia

Hi, any chance that the reaction will be reupload ?

I'm inclined to disagree. I don't think the author was imposing such an idea, mainly due to the fact that the Father made no such choice. He lived as a human as was convenient for him, and as a when when that was convenient. The fact his children chose a singular path that made them happy isn't an inherently bad or good thing. And aside from the immediate heartbreak of her son leaving to make his own life, which is something a lot of parents feel even with human children as they grow, Hanna seems entirely content with the lives her children have taken. This story was about Hanna raising her children so they could decide how they wanted to live, and the story ended after they reached that point. I, personally, don't have an issue with that ending

Thank you for sharing your opinion Khalid :) I agree, I felt like the ending shouldn't have gone this way and really just... ended so abruptly and in such a sad manner. Although Ame chose his own path and it was a huge part of the story, I felt like he didn't view his mother in that light either and it was very unfair. I can't imagine the heartbreak that Hana must've felt. We all felt a bit of it.

VKunia

YES I COMPLETELY AGREE!!! You summed it up perfectly Antonio!! The film really followed Hana and showed how wonderful, giving and caring of a mother she is and it makes you really think about all that your own mother has sacrificed for you. It definitely is an ode to all mothers out there.

VKunia

The sub did not explain, but thank you. That's so pretty. 🥺❤️❤️

VKunia

REALLY??? Oh gosh I'm sorry you had to experience this film that way!!! :( I hope the reaction at least helped make it a bit better!! 😊

Thanks for the reaction, it was a beautiful and touching movie as usual, but I didn't fully accept the idea of the end story. It is okay to let your children choose their path in life, but "Ame" had to always visit his mother and sister. Secondly, I see that the author imposed the idea that the werewolf should He chooses either to live as a human being or in the animal world, but Why shouldn't a werewolf live both ways???? For me, this ending is sad, and “Ame” didn't realize the sacrifices of his mother, as he had to stay with his family and return the beauty of his mother and help her to live life and this is the duty of the children. Thx again for the reaction and your efforts ^^

In case the sub didn't explain about the children's names, Yuki means Snow, and Ame means Rain.

Thank you for sharing your watching video with us. It is such a emotional and wonderful movie and hits me also every time very deep inside me. I think Hana ist the strongest woman i have ever seen in a movie and this one (as many other Animes!) shows us what true strength is!!! For me this movie is also a love letter to all mothers (and of course fathers) who never give up to do their best for their Children, no matter what happens....

AnTonio

Yes, Summer Wars is my most favorite movie from Director Mamoru Hosoda!

I remember seeing the US premiere of this film in a special screening where the projector had way too many issues - eventually cutting out completely halfway through. I never got around to watching the full film, it was nice to see this reaction!

Michael McGee
