Dev-Log 20.02. - Extended Location "Lower Deck"

Hi,

while waiting on feedback for the V0.3 Early Access Release (looking good so far) I started with the new locations planned for V0.4.

  • Science lab (where Nimhe assembles her bots)
  • Holodeck (for more flexibility later)
  • Crew 1 & 2 (for the Hyperspace Navigator, which will join later and some other crew function...)
  • Seraphine (aka Space Irith...) will be in Guest Room 2 on the Upper Deck

Random Alien #1 (NSFW) & Status Early Access

Working a bit on some random Aliens for later in the game.

Also, the Early access is running well so far, there are only a few issues reported (mainly minor dialogue inconsistencies). Special thanks to Ryuke and Biblioimmortal for testing!

All-Access Tier early access release will be as planned 23.02. or one day earlier on 22.02.

Official patreon release can also be a day earlier on 1.03. if everything remains stable.

Version 0.3 Beta Released for Testing

Hi,

today I completed the Beta version for testing. There are a ton of changes and almost all the quests tuned/rewritten and new stuff added. The CRQ list has grown massively (see attachment...)

That's why the Beta was about 2 days late. Due to the many changes, I do not want to publish the Early Access VIP version without full testing cycle. That's why I want to push it back for one day (but still in time for the weekend).

V0.3 - Integration started (NSFW)

Hi,


today I started the integration of all the quest elements and graphics. Except for two anims (which are already set up for render) and one still image all assets and 95% of quest code are done.

Small scale preview of Leila, the first dancer in the Spacebar attached ;) Also a small help screen for the mining game I added ingame (I noticed some ppl didn't realize you can align in two directions...)

today I expanded the ship to prepare for future versions (lower deck level).

Eventually the ship will need a standard crew complement, so there's room for expansion now. Probably a holodeck will be down there, some quarters etc.

today I got unexpectedly hit by Apple's "If we don't want it, you won't get it..." policy, which sh*tlisted my coding environment (Atom). Wouldn't even launch anymore.

So I spent almost an entire day getting Visual Studio installed and getting used to the layout, redid all my Macros, ...

I hate Microsoft with a passion and was ready to hate VS too.

I was quite unhappy how lazy the Swarm/Nexus render looked, so when I today followed a geometry node tutorial on blender, I redid the scene.

Rather an improvement I'd say. It didn't even take longer to make, due to the geometry node magic ;) ...

Dev-Update and Release Dates V0.3

Hi everyone,

today I did two of the last mechanics parts before I can move on to quest and animations.

  • Table dancers for bar (rotate every hour, one slot implemented) 
  • Shady trader shop interface (see screenshot)

Idea for the dancers is, you convince out of their luck space-captains to work in the bar for a while in exchange for the space rescue event you encounter. After all, those Flux-Regulators are not cheap...

Dev-Log - Progress V0.3 (Semi-SFW)

Today I worked a bit on Nimhe's quests and above shot is an item I made for it in Blender ;)

The hair particle system in Blender is (sadly) quite instable on my M1 Mac so I'll use it in moderation (may have to "fake" the plushy part in DAZ Studio).

I postponed working on the wreck exploration minigame, as I bit up a bit more than I could chew there an it began eating up too much time. I'll do the quests and assets for V0.3 now instead. I'll make sure in V0.3 there are enough scene...

Dev-Log - Storyline Nimhe Started

Hi,

today I started the storyline for Nimhe.

Idea is, after failure to enter the alien junkyard, you decide to hire a hacker to get rid of those pesky inderdiction drones. Nimhe is available, but gives you a bunch of tasks before she decides to join.

Dev Log - Minigame

I've started to work on the second major minigame for V0.3, the space wreck exploration (see screen mock-up)

It is a set of sidescrolling levels arranged to a sort of ship, with elevator / portal connections between the levels (see minimap top right). Once in the command level, an AI-Core can be gained.

Your exploration drone is step by step running out of energy and has to "take over" the hostile drones in the ship to continue the exploration. Inspired by Paradroid, a really awes...

just in time for the weekend and one day early please find the official Patreon Release of version V0.2.1a below.

Development Status

Today I reworked & fixed the large format favour animation of T'Ris for V0.3 (also backported it to V0.2.1).

Also I tested the new minimap system (every location can have a separate minimap now) integrated all new locations (space station interior sets) and migrated the Trader and other Space Station interactions to the new locations as clickable elements.

New Location - Space Bar

Hi,

today I made the interior of the space bar. The two figure placeholders are just for scale. Setting might still change a bit.

There will be an animated table dancer on the left side, a slot machine for gambling on the right (I can reuse my Princess slot machine code in a more fitting setting ;)).

Also, the Shady Trader will be here and the Barkeeper will give you missions.

Not sure which feature of those makes it into V0.3, but some at least.

New Location - Commercial District

Hi,

today I made the backdrop for the commercial & entertainment section of the station.

My first ever street / city scene in Blender. Decided to make this part more spacious and not just a corridor. After all, they have space compression technology... ;)

This location will lead to the Space Bar, Redlight Establishment and Shady Trader.

Release Status V0.2.1 Early Access

Finished testing V0.2.1 just now and I am happy with the overhauled training system, also made some revised art to match it. And I wrote the first walk-through version.

  • All-Access and VIP Early Access Release V0.2.1 will be posted one day early tomorrow (22.01 around noon European Time).

V0.2 Early Access (EA)- Dev Log

Hi,

playing the already released V0.2 VIP EA I found that some improvements were necessary in the Game flow.

I was happy with the Sandbox and space activites, but day to day tasks and favor point system were non existent. As a result, the transition to training & favors was too abrupt imho.

Selfie with Xenomorph...

Hi,

here is the last one of the character vignettes. Seraphine (aka Space Irith) taking a selfie with a captured xenomorph. Fortunately containment is ensured...

Character Art

Hi,

while waiting for the feedback form the first Early Access Phase (no bug reports so far...) I worked a bit on the characters.

Also decided the names.

  • The mystery passenger is V (appears in V0.2)
  • The hacker girl is Nimhe (Neve) (appears from V0.3)
  • The starlet is Seraphine (aka Irith) (appears from V0.3 or V0.4)
  • The senior officer is T'Ris (appears in V0.2)
