Space Journey X - Status of Beta & EA I

Hi,

the Beta Test for V220 is running well. There were a bunch of minor issues overall and some more complex cleanup in the RPG System.

With Beta V220_010 posted today everything should be running stable. Thanks for all the testers submitting reports and suggestions.

I will package the Release Candidate for VIP Early Access I tomorrow for release on 17th July.

The remaining testing activities and also the Walkthrough & Release Notes will take up most of my time ...

After a bit more than three months the Beta of the next major Version has just been released in the Beta Channel for testing.

Here are the next Release Dates:

  • 24th July Upper Tier Early Access II

Devlog - 8th July - V2.20 Release In Sight!

I am approaching the end of my from-zero playthrough with the Beta Release Candidate. Just cleared the NX010 Precursor Maps and now only some testing in Quthor for Khelara Shaving content remains.

While play testing I fixed a number of QoL issues as well

Devlog - 5th July - Progress V2.20 Integration Test

Hi,

I'm about 55% through testing V2.20. Testing might take a bit longer than simple playthrough as I also fix smaller issues I come across.

E.g I got annoyed that early missions always have more quantity than your puny cargo so I aligned the shown missions quantity requirements with your current cargo cap. Much less frustrating.
Changed also some dialogues I wasn't happy with and now forced the ship repair interaction when you run into T'Ris, as some players would never chat ...

DevLog - 2nd of July - V2.20 Testing Started & BB-2 Asset Surprise

today I finished the release candidate for v220 BETA and started a from zero test run which I feel is necessary due to the many structural changes.

It should take me three to four days to play through and fix any issues.

while finishing the Underverse Subunit Activation Quest I decided to fold Khelara's shaving content into the Quest. In order to impress a client at the bar Khelara needs to step up her Game with your present, the Krell Pet Shaver...

Rather than just adding the content in the bar I decided to implement a shaving favour, so you can shave Khelara during the day when you feel it is required ;)

All sprites and cutscenes will be adapted and available in shaved and unshaved...

Hi,

I am steadily moving forward through the list of 2.20 features. Here is a smaller one I'll do today and tomorrow. A new personal bot as per VIP Poll result!

It can be asked to Nimhe once she has upgraded the J-Type and can also create G-Shells.
In a first wave I'll convert the existing animations. Maybe I'll add another one after that.

Devlog - 12th June - Progress V2.20

Hi,

Quest 1 of 4 (Armoury & Combat Unlock) is mostly finished.

  • Loot and defeat routines are done and quest steps also done.

  • While working on the quest I found that loot is much more satisfying if you can find items to equip your characters, so I implemented the first set of items and the equipment GUI (see screenshot).

  • Includes some grenades for group effect, armor and blasters.

Hi,

V220_002 DEV has been out for a few days now in the Beta Channel to test the RPG combat system and a few other features. Some issues were discovered and also balancing tips regarding combat submitted. Thanks to all testers for the feedback!

The RPG module has "passed muster" in a sense, it technically also works, so now I will integrate it into the story.

the last two I days I did the Armoury staffing with bots GUI (up to 3) and when I thought about a proper way to define combat stats and mechanics I decided to go for D&D-ish system rather than inventing something new.

So I wrote the classes, transfer code from bot to ground unit class (see imported bots, all start as lvl 1 and can level up like in D&D) and started on the D&D stat and combat logic.
