This is the final hiatus post, I'll be posting the stuff that doesn't fit anywhere else, mostly sketches of my fursona, gift art and trades.
First off 2024 was the year I finally caved in and said, fine, I have a fursona now, it's a capybara. I never sat down to give him a proper design so you'll see some stuff like the shape of the snout shape around a lot but fuck it. The first of these I made because I tried to do a 160kg bench and failed, then did the second pic when I tried again a...

Fuck it, let's do it now. For this second-to-last post, here's all the stuff with other characters that are... canon? Can we call it that?
I'm going to start with the (somehow still unnamed) gym receptionist rhino, I did a couple pics with him in 2023 to sort of develop the character but didn't account for much. I just like rhinos, man. The one that got the most traction is definitely the Terrenator animation (which loses some of the impact without sound, sadly Patreon doesn't let me up...

Part 2 of this hiatus catch-up post. I'll start off with two BMZ strips I did last year. The first has Miles' straight friends doing some pretty gay stuff. I've frankly had my junk grabbed by an equal amount of gay and straight guys until my mid 20s or so, I'm sure the experience is relatable. For the second one, I wanted to make this a more romantic twist on generational humor, with each stopping the other from doing stupid shit on their phone that the two generations constantly accuse each ...

So I started posting some of the content for the last two years or so I was in hiatus back in January and I sort of stopped once I got everything necessary for Outclassed 2 done (random Joe pics with some character development, leading the strip series where he starts doing therapy to introduce Horacio, and other developments with Suarez and Walter), figured I'd get back to this and post all the Boomer and Miles stuff I missed.
In order, the first three I did in anticipation to the Barb...

I wanted to use this comic as an opportunity to be a little more creative with page layouts and have stuff pop out of the panels when appropriate, I can't think of a better example than this one.
You'll notice the Q and K cards are on the bottom of both hands, covered by the other cards. That's because a couple simple shapes on a card are a lot easier to draw than the more complex figures of the jacks, queens and kings (I did one for the cover and it was pretty time consuming). I promis...

There's an error in this sketched page that I fixed for the final version: notice Alfonso is holding the cards wrong. The way he's holding them, he wouldn't be able to tell the card number and suit (on the upper left corner). Suarez is holding them correctly
I noticed this when doing the cover, which for context, I did once I had about 15 pages sketched and 5 pages colored ahead of time, so I hadn't had to actually draw any cards up to that point. But here's the thing: unlike the other ...

You choose not to respond to the minotaur's comment, relieved he's allowing you in at all, and step into Blacktusk Inn. The tavern's inside is warm, dry and cozy, a welcome contrast to the damp and cold road you were just enduring. It's not a spacious building, but you welcome the intimacy such a small gathering will grant you. Four other patrons are sitting at the bar, waiting for the event to start.
The first from your right is a burly orc drinking a large mug of beer. The man is inte...

Ok so the reason they're playing five card draw is that I don't think the other variants lend themselves very well to a comic format. If I went with Texas hold'em, too much time would be wasted with the next card in the hand being revealed and everyone swapping cards and so on. I'm going to do my best to keep the hands short and to the point so we can focus on the good stuff.
Since I was going to have a Suarez talking head panel and Walter's on his lap not doing much I figured I'd show ...

To answer the question from the last WIP post: it was the chips. In fact throughout the next WIP pages you'll notice the number of chips every character has is something I'll be very consistent about.
One thing I changed when doing the lineart is Walter's expression on the last panel. Even though Walter's 100% down for this sort of thing, I imagine he'd look a bit surprised at the realisation that he's going to be passed around as an object and that's what the original expression reflec...

I ended up doing three parts of this, considering it was meant for Valentine's I made this last part more sensual than sexual if that makes sense.

It wasn't as noticeable on page 5 because of the way Horacio was sitting but you can tell there were only 3 chairs. Since Walter will be sharing chairs, this lets me show all three characters in a wide view if necessary (without much detail in the background other than the curtain, since the table is on the edge of the living room)
I debated whether it would look lazy to have Walter standing in a white void of a living room, but I guess it shows well how there really isn't anything for ...

I was honestly caught off guard by the results of this month's drawpoll ( https://www.patreon.com/posts/drawpoll-2024-121601025 ) yet here we are, with Boomer and Miles as vikings of opposing clans for Valentine's. With Joe thrown in for good measure.

Ok so when I wrote the script for this page I gave Horacio the last name Delgado (which is a common last name, meaning skinny, haha), I don't know if that's the last name I'll settle on so I left it ambiguous in the final version.
Another script difference is him calling his recent patients "lucrative" as opposed to "interesting", I had a couple friends go through the script and give me feedback and this stuck out to them as not something a good therapist would say and I agree. It's nev...

So! The month's first drawpoll (for the CYOA) is already up, let's get started with the second, shall we?
Valentine's day is coming up, I'll be giving Boomer and Miles some love. I figured a fun idea for the occasion (since the time travel CYOA pitch didn't work out) could be showing Boomer and Miles falling in love in different time periods. The options will be:
Stone Age (Boomer and Miles as cavemen)
Vikings (as members of opposing clans)
Feudal Japan (Boomer as a samurai,...

You stand in front of the door, and knock seven times. No more, no less, as you were instructed to. You lower your hood and attempt to undo the mess the sleet and wind made with your appearance. As much as you hoped it wouldn't rain tonight, it does at least make reflective surfaces easy to find. The light coming from one of the inn's windows shines on a nearby puddle. It's not very strong, possibly to allow the patrons some privacy, but it's enough to let you make a few quick adjustments bef...

I have drawn Suarez's polo shirt before for a one-off pic (fifth in this hiatus catchup post https://www.patreon.com/posts/hiatus-catch-up-119297679 ), since Horacio is going to be a main character here and he has a purple color scheme over all (skin tone, clothing, etc). Whenever I draw these two I make an effort to show Suarez getting confirmation from Walter that he's alright with what they're doing. Considering he's involving more people (which some might find uncomfortable), it's not a bad idea to ask.
I'm not entirely happy with how the sweat reflections on their body turned out on this page, but oh well, at least we're changing the setting for the next page.
