I find women's legs in stockings beautiful. Don't ask me where this preference comes from. I don't know. But when I see Kira like this, I could just stare at her. And the funny thing is: it wouldn't even bother her.

I enjoy working with models who are completely at ease with themselves. Kiara is one of those. She was able to block out the hikers around us and simply go through her yoga routine. Naked yoga. So simple, so good. I love photographing series that tell a little story with minimal props. It was definitely worth packing the yoga mat on my Tenerife trip.

In 2013 I photographed my first tennis set. With young Katharina on the university sports campus (with official permission). For my first photo book: Frisky. I thought, hey, how would it be if I shot another story like this with her 10 years later?
And so we met again: With a new (old) tennis racket. On Fuerteventura, at my favorite tennis court.

Young Nastya, a dreamlike model, a jewel, a diamond. What can I say? I'm simply a fan. Also because I appreciate her natural way so much. Now I've thrown her into the cold water. Not literally. But kind of, because after sunset it was terribly cold in the pool. But the hot tub was very hot.

There are a few reasons why I love Ibiza: nature is beautiful, even away from the sea. It's a rather small island where you can reach each destination within a one hour drive. And then, everybody's free. A relaxed lifestyle and nobody has a problem with nudity.

When I was fed up with shooting in hotel rooms, I had the idea of flying abroad for a shoot. This was my first ever trip to Fuerteventura and I got to work with Estrella. These images were the application for PB Netherlands. She became a playmate later. Unfortunately they re-schedule a new shoot with another model. But I absolutely loved working with her. 40 degrees Celsius outside and a hot Hungarian woman in a hotel suite. Such shoots stay in your mind. As well as the astonishing fact that cold water from tap was freezing cold as it came straight from the Alps.

From my first trip to Ibiza, ever. I only had the opportunity to shoot with this partly used Citroen 2CV for a very short period. The owner said like "ok, but make it quick", so I did this shoot in less than one hour. It probably was my quickest shoot ever until today.

My title is a bit ironic, because although I took these pictures on a warm day, it still wasn't warm at 10 o'clock in the morning. Especially the wind can be somewhat fresh and thus nasty. I always feel sorry about that. The model life really isn't a piece of cake. At least not always.

How do I come up with my series titles? That's sometimes a long journey. But not always. Sometimes the titles jump right out at me and it really only takes a few seconds. On other days I try to put the feelings of the shoot into words. My feelings, so always very subjective.

I've been to Fuerteventura many times. And the weather is always different. Especially in the north of the island, right at the tip, there's usually a nasty wind blowing. The waves are wild and without a windbreaker it quickly becomes unpleasant. When I drove by here with Katharina in sunshine, I said to her: This is completely new for me. Let's quickly jump out of the car and take photos. No sooner said than done!
