In the wake of Eiji Tsuburaya's sudden death, Tsuburaya Productions could have done any number of things to try and craft a lasting legacy without the man that started it all. What they did was decide to push Ultraman even further. Return of Ultraman is messier, more personal, and more imperfect than its predecessors, but it's also more human.
