How I do my cheek tufts

Just a quick display of how I make the cheek tufts on my suits. I actually pattern them on the head. I used to use flat paper but ive found this way helps the cheeks to smooth into the face better.

Removing Dots from Dotted Minky

So if you've ever been to a fabric store in the US you will notice their minky selection is pretty limited unless you want it to have this annoying pattern on it. I dont know who this is for or why its like this but unfortunately thats the world we live in. Here is how we remove the dots in a pinch.

1. place the minky on a flat suface (an ironing board) and heat the iron to max for synthetic fibers.
2. put down either a cotton shirt or we are using a sew on interface here as l...

Materials: Use straight Microtip Needles sew patterns

We use curved needles for anywhere an invisible stitch is needed. However when it comes to stitching in patterns, this is the time to use a straight, preferably micro tip needle in order to avoid bunching!

Small Tip: Make your Tail Patterns Simpler

So here we have a premade tail I could take some liberty with.

Get in the habit of breaking your curves down into straights. Fauxfur doesn't show every minute detail once complete. When it's not shaved that is. Handsewing should be avoided to increase the life of a tail.

Tip: Patterning the body lining for padding.

Use the duct tape dummy! Wrap it in clear plastic and then tape over it. Then draw where you want the padding to fall. Cut that off and then transfer to stretchy fabric to create a pocket for the inside of the suit

Materials/Tips: Adhesive Felt to show mockups

I use adhesive felt in order to show my clients different directions I can go in regards to the eyebrow and eyeliner. You can grab some here. This REALLY comes in handy.

Be sure to peel the adhesive off of the back before applying your adhesive to the final version. This is tricky so you can also trace and transfer it over to other material later if thats easier.

E6000 Adhesive and painting details

We all love hot glue here. I recommend reading up on what Ive written on hotglue materials here to make sure youre buying good stuff! However, it does often have a limited life when clients are using fursuit spray with isopropnyl alcohol in them.

ALL THE COLORS I USE! What to know when choosing Howl or Big Z

Not the most helpful post but might help someone! This post describes how to get my entire stock of fur if you wanna be a crazy person like me. It also will show my preferences for colors/textures. For example I choose Cocoa over Caramel and never choose howls grey. Please feel free to ask about colors I didnt include and why I didnt include them.

I now avoid fursuit supplies because of their inconsistent stock and colors.

But here is how you get the who...

Spot Cleaning Stains and Problem areas using Folex Carpet Cleaner

Folex brand carpet cleaner can be used to spot clean a fursuit, or brighten up whites.
Some things to note before you begin:

1. You cannot use this on parts where you have airbrush. It will take of some if not all of the airbrush.

2. Build up of folex can be bad for the fur. I recommend rinsing.

3. I don't guerantee anything. This is just how I use th...

Tip: properly afixing magnets to hair pieces.

You must use neodymium magnets. They are strong be careful!

1. Sew the hair piece but leave a slit open to access the inside.

2. Glue the magnet onto the backing.

3. Cut a square of any random leftover fabric you have and sew that down to reinforce it.

This step shouldn't be skipped. Magnets love to come lose from glue and will break on your customers!

Technical Issue: Some posts arent showing

There is a problem with some of the posts being marked as only for the Gem tier.

I have to manually change it on every post and with how slow patreon is, its taking a long time. I am working to fix this.

Patterning your Own Headbag (unfinished tutorial)

Tip: removing glue mistakes from fur

Always keep a flea comb handy. You can get one at any pet store. Brush it underneath the ue glob as shown and slowly work it up to the tip of the fur. Then cut it out with scissors! This trick is a lifesaver.

One of the best pieces of advice I can give is if you mess up and drop glue on fur, do not try to grab it while hot. Let it dry as is, as a glob. Don't think you can grab it real quick. Those errors usually cannot be fixed.

Tier Changes

Hey everyone! Just a quick update on some patreon changes that are going to happen. I have made the following changes to the tier system.

1. I am now limiting the number of patreons that can join the Gem tier to what its at currently. Meaning unless someone drops out of patreon, no more Gem Tier members can join.

2. I have retired the $10 Noodle tier. Those of you that are in the noodle tier, you may continue to stay in it and accumulate. Howe...
