All Mesh Eyes

I have started moving more towards the all mesh eyes when I can because of the overall vision it offers. With dye sublimation and the vinyl mesh it has made my eyes pop and feel alive. So the black around the eyes is actually a 3d printed piece meant to fit these bases perfectly (the base itself is TPU). It has a bit of a curve to it so the eye does not stay flat on the head and gives it a bit of a curve making the eye look a bit rounder which gives it an overall better look than just pasted ...

Labubu Fursuit Head Kit

Learning as I go - Plastic Injection

Let me start with, this has all been a learning process and like anything I like to learn what I am doing and test as much as possible. I finally got my resin mold up and going for the torso and had a few little mishaps, some I should be able to fix with minor setting changes.

Got this little guy in hand to see how he will look like as a toy. Pretty pleased overall and excited to see how it progresses. Plan to have at least 2 painted designs to show at Megaplex and some blanks. Waiting on the collie previews next 👏

Eye lid time

Working on this kitty but had yet to do the eyelids. Modeled them in nomad to fit the base perfectly. Plan to cover the upper portion in either mochi or felt. The lower thinner area will be black and I will end up flocking it . Since it’s not an area that is exposed to scratching it will be a good candidate for it. The flocking should match the nose which is stretched mochi. Gotta love the power of 3D ⭐️

New kit 👀 WIP

Working on final touches on this kit so I can have the first version of this very soon. Will come with a few ear types so you can pick and choose the one you want. Doing a more pronounced eye on this so it really looks like the eyes are more focused on the viewer. Whole new type of jaw set. Going to offer 2 nose types with this one as well. Trying to make these more modular overall. The base will be mostly TPU. Going to make some taller ears and a flopped over version :)

So my friend got me into LABUBUS so I want to make one. This is the initial idea, will sculpt in 3D to fully show what I have in mind.

Squishy noses?

Was thinking of offering squishy TPU noses in a few sizes. Would this be something you might want to buy? The noses would be meant to be covered in fabric but instead of carving a nose you could just have a soft foam like noses ready to go.

Wanted to gauge how many might like the idea so I can offer a few styles here for people who may want to buy.

Working on changing what used to be the old Mixedcandy workshop room into the photo room. It has taken me a few days to clear out but finally seeing progress. Tariffs & future projects + Health Update

As many of you are already aware, we are currently facing some of the highest tariffs on imports from China that we've seen in years. So, what does this mean for the projects I have in the works? Unfortunately, almost all of the projects currently in the prototype stage will need to be paused until the tariffs are reduced or until we can find a way to navigate around them. These are challenging times, and it's tough to see a way forward, especially for small businesses like mine.

3D eye blanks in the works

Working on printing a few 3D eye blanks with eyelids ready to plug into head bases. Going to work on a few designs to offer here first then on Etsy. A few had asked for a couple of designs so wanted to go ahead and work on them. Hope to have a variety and later on with mesh that fits the eye perfectly too.

New bases are coming

Working on releasing 2 sizes for these bases. Since I was working on one slightly smaller for myself might as well offer that size too. The smaller size is a slightly more compact head that will fit a circumference of 23 inches measured above the eyes (but with enough space to line and pad it).

The one that I am calling "Large" is only a bit bigger but it will easily fit people with a 23.5 inch head all the way up to 25 inches. The larger one I would suggest if you are wanting to use it...

Much smaller version

Making a much smaller version of this base for myself to test. Really pushing how closely I can get it to fit my own head without being “too” small. Lower jaw was changed to TPU so it’s comfier on my own chin. Perks of TPU, I can slice chunks off if it’s too tight unlike PLA +. The rest will finish printing tonight 👏

Working on a new base that’s a mix of 2 materials. Need to wait until the upper teeth print and design the eyes that will go into it. Currently using the wolf kit eyes I have which work, so this base will have a few eye style options. Just be releasing this one on Patreon first sometime soon. WIP for now.

Inflatable tail cores

BJD approach to a fursuit head

Last year I started the process of looking at injection molds and I started with a tiny hand cranked machine. The overall success of that was terrible and the machine itself was cheap and the process was a mess, so I wanted to go a big bigger with actual pneumatic pressure. Once you go with a machine that can offer accurate pressure that is consistent then you get results that look good and can be replicated.
