I re-recorded the Audio with new setup

I re-recorded the audio for the Greece video with my new audio set up, and the quality is so great that I wanted to share it with you.

I feel kind of stupid now. As my microphone quality deteriorated throughout the last 2 years, I spent a lot of time tinckering around with audio editors to somewhat improve the quality. I should have built this better set-up ages ago.

Plans for 2022

As 2021 comes to an end, I'd like to share with you the plans I have for 2022.

The first video of 2022 will be exploring the social forces that created the broken political structures that enabled the Greek debt crisis. This will be a standard short 20-30 minute long video as you all have seen throughout recent months. I intend to make several more of these short videos, mainly focused on the political developments that created the different state structures of European countries.

The experiment failed

ok, I tried to sit down and write a script for a video that was intended to be only 5 minutes long, and I failed completely and miserably. So I am putting this idea on the ice for now. I might return to it later, and somehow figure out how to write something that is not a bloated information bomb, but for the time being I am returning to the video on the Greek debt crisis.

Oh, and btw, I know some of you expressed fears that my next video was going to be a tabloid "lazy greeks" narrativ...

Do I have your permission to do an experiment?

I was thinking of trying to make a short 4-5 mionute video about the collapse of communal social and economic structures in Scotland during the early 19th century.

My main intention behind it is to see if I can make a short 5 minute video in under 5 days. 

If succesfull, I will try to make these 5 minute vids to fill the time that you wait for the main project. I will still continue working on the Greece project.

How Denmark invented Social Democracy

This was ironically one of the hardest videos to make EVER. So much went wrong. And in the end I am so happy to finally give you this video. I hope the interuptions did not make the quality suffer. And I hope you enjoy it. Keep in mind that as of posting this the 4K HD version is still rendering, but it should be done 30-40 minutes after I made this post.

I quit my job

and am moving out into the deep countryside into a goat farm. It's a elderly relative's goat farm and they only have 2 goats, but that relative will be gone for 3 months and needs someone to look after the two goats. So they hired me to do this on a low wage as a basic job.

To me that sounded like a perfect opportunity to get a little break and relax. No worries, I will still be making videos, and I think I might now also do more live streams again.

Addressing the racist tweets from 2016

As some of you have probably seen yourself, critics of mine love to post screencaps of tweets I made in angry outbursts about 7 years ago. One in which I post a racial slur at a Morrocan holocaust denier, and others in which I posted a racial slur at a Pakistani Islamist. I have addressed these tweets before, in fact, even apologized for them publicly in 2017. But that doesn't matter. The truth of the matter is that I have nobody to blame for these but myself, and they will be coming up again...

The change to monthly payouts has been made

I have made the much-requested change to payouts on a monthly basis. I will however not have you "charged upfront". Thank for your trust and for allowing me to do this. It takes an enormous amount of stress off my shoulders. 

Starting in 2022 you should now be charged monthly. And I no longer have to worry as much about how fast I can draw. In the future we will simply implement the system where you all get access to the work servers to observe the work in process.
