Art Study #2: Power

For this render, I used complementary colors. I wanted to try using a more complicated lighting setup for this one. The blue was a normal, solid light, while the orange light used a gobos for add a bit of texture to the lighting. On top of this, I also added secondary fill lights for both colors so that the tone of the shadows would match the light on each side.

I think this came out fairly decent, but I'm not completely happy with it. I feel like I need to get better at conveying depth...

Frieren v0.5.1 Beta [Radix I]

  • Made some slight adjustments to the skin and hair shaders

I was really unhappy with how the skin ended up turning out with the v0.5 version. The issue was that I recently noticed a major problem with the Subsurface Scattering (SSS) setting in Cycles for all of my models.

Quick Update

I'm still working on some updates for my Frieren model. It's taking a bit longer than I had originally expected, so instead of trying to get everything out for the v1.0 public release, I'll be making a smaller update soon (v0.5) that will hopefully be out in the next 1 - 2 days. This update will include some of the changes I'm making to her face and hair to be more accurate to the anime, as well as some changes to her skin shader.

Power (Chainsaw Man) v0.2 Beta [Radix II]

Power (Chainsaw Man) v0.1 Beta [Radix II]

Power (Chainsaw Man) v0.0.3 Alpha [Radix II]

The model is inching closer to being ready for the Beta Phase. I still have to work a lot more on the hair, and I'm still not completely happy with how the eyes look just yet.

Yoru - The War Devil (Chainsaw Man) v0.1 Available Now [Radix II]

I'm happy that I was able to get this out a bit sooner than expected.

By default, Yoru's long hair follows her back. This is useful for being able to quickly pose the model and get decent results without having to constantly adjust to hair.

However, under the Hair Tab in MustardUI, there is a "Hair Rig" option. This activates the rig for her hair in the back, which will allow you to pose the hair if it needs to flow is a certain direction.
