Live patron Xmas unwrapping

Update: Here's a version for those who missed it, with improved audio quality: https://youtu.be/I5USxFo_Wq0 Sorry to those who joined me live; I had a software bug, a hardware problem, and a mistake by me, all conspiring to ensure the audio sounded like the mic was down my trousers. The audio improves somewhat at 5:19, but still a bit trousery. You guys deserve better & I've already worked out the k...

Video updated with small tweaks & fixes

Dear Supporters

This Thanksgiving I'd like to tell each and every one of you how much I have appreciated your support... but that might get annoying in all your inboxes! So hopefully this will suffice.

And for my non-American friends here, Happy Thursday!!! But I also appreciate you just as much.

In return here's a bumper 24 minute recipode chasing tigers with my dad's Amstrad PC. I hope you enjoy this somewhat p...

Peri/phrastic - Episode 4

Dear Supporters!

Here's episode 4 of my supporter-only vlog, Peri/phrastic, where amongst other things you can help me get less Perifragmented (you'll see...) 🙄

Your friend in retro, Perifractic

P.S. Sorry if the picture quality is a bit low. New HD webcam, but apparently I'm still learning how to use it. Sorry, I'm not very good with modern technology! ;-)

Zzap!64 Annual Unboxing!

Update: I've just been told that my interview was edited by Roger Kean, who as you may know was the Zzap!64 Editor since day one back in the 80s. It was also apparently his choice to mention it on the cover. What an honour!! #ImNotWorthy

Dear Patrons!

Just as everyone was going to sleep in the UK, I received in my mailbox a very nice little (big) package and decided to do a last-second impromptu live unboxing.

If you missed it, here's a replay of the live stre...

Bonus Scarifractic 👻

Spoopy Supporters, excl-boo-sively for you, here's a couple of scares from tonight's trick or treating! (These will probably appear in next year's public video.) Remember the young girl with "the" scream from this year's Halloween Computer video? See if you can recognize her, now 1-2 years older, in this!

New Oliver Frey art

Dear Supporters

I thought you might like to be first to see a little edit legendary Zzap! 64 artist Oliver Frey made to the YouTube channel avatar :-)

It's kind of mind blowing that a childhood hero is helping brand my retro endeavours... 🤯

Sooner than later?

Dear valued early access supporters,

This week's video is almost done. It's nearly 40 minutes and one heck of a ride. I hope you'll love it!

But it raises a question...
Occasionally for complex projects, I may have a rough edit ready by the usual early access Thursday, but with some brief clips missing (and title card placeholders in their place). Whereas the final cut would be ready Friday in some cases. And of course they go public Saturdays.

Occasionally would...

Update: Next week's video is coming next week!

Dear Supporters

It turns out that the next video is a 2 week project, which means there won't be a main video this week. But it's an exciting one as together we'll launch my first 'real' product; the VIC-II² PAL/NTSC Switcher for Commodore 64!

This is the result of a year's work by me and Sean Harrington aka 1Stage, and a lot of trial and error. I want to take you guys with me on the journey of what worked and what didn't, right up till launch.

In the meantime feel free to ...

An update on 'those' images...

Dear supporters

After I posted yesterday's video and those naughty pixelated images (which I pixelated further) I received a couple of comments suggesting I open them via the Viewtek program. I should have thought of that at the time but I guess I was in shock!

Anyway, that's what I've done and... well... you can see for yourselves if you want. Looks like these were originally created in a much higher colour mode, or possibly HAM (hold and modify).

However I'm not e...

Early-bird: Team17's Amiga 1200!

Video updated with more specs of the machine near the beginning.

Dear Supporters

I had hoped to get this to you earlier but there was a glitch in the video file that I had to track down, but it's up now and I hope you enjoy joining me as we explore Team17's Amiga 1200, and more!

I decided to slightly (further) pixelate some of the naughty bits, whilst trying to retain the historical value and 'charm' shall we say...

As always let me know any suggested changes,...

Your opinion on NSFW

Hi guys, so I've been down with the man flu and a burst blood vessel in my eye (that's not the NSFW content!) but I'm still getting a video out to you this week :-)

I now have Team17's Amiga 1200!!! And we're going to explore it together. It'll be a lot of fun. I've already done some exploring and, well... here's an example of one thing I found:

Early-bird: Wait, the Pawn Stars shop is fake?

Dear Supporters

I'm going a little off-menu this week after I noticed something whilst watching my favourite "retro" show. But we don't stray too far...

If you're interested in the copyright situation of using these clips, I've researched it in depth, and they fall under "fair use" federal law which permits use of copyright material for "comment or critique" in this manner, as other established Pawn Stars critique videos have done.

I'd love to know your thoughts or sug...

Early-bird (sorta): World's cutest Amiga?

Dear Supporters,

In yesterday's update I explained the reasons for a little delay, but that didn't stop Mrs Recipes having some fun with my recent live video. I've sneakily spliced in some new footage of her to that awkward silence where I realized I'd left an important package in the boot of my car. While I go off to get that she unboxes something of her own! The new bit is around the 11:30 mark. I hope you enjoy this updated early bird video access!

Peri-preview: So you bought a C64?

Dear Supporters

It's a good news/not so good news kind of update!:

Grannyfractic

As you'll know if you watched last week's Peri/phrastic vlog, Ladyfractic's grandmother had spent some time in the hospital last week. Unfortunately she's back in again. This means we've taken on some unexpected responsibilities which have slowed progress this week, and Puppyfractic is dog sitting for little Sophiefractic. (Why does everyone's name here end with an "ee" sound...
