Hi everyone! I just released my largest piece of music and music video ever today! In the last month, I have been experiencing tremendous health issues but this music was always there for me to escape into when I was feeling afraid, scared, or anxious about the future. I'm really happy to say my health has greatly improved and I'm starting to feel like myself again.
I uploaded this music video on both of my YouTube's but the quality suffered from YT compression. My patrons get th...

We recently had a lovely live gathering of several dozen people all exploring voice together. We discussed several topics: hydration, warm-up approaches, mentality, the role of exercises in practice, and ultimately had a deep tour of glottal proprioception (how to feel what happens near your vocal folds).
Here is an overview document of the discussion plan for the day. We ended up not discussing resonance directly as glottal behavior proved to be more pressing. 2020-07-31 02:47:32 +0000 UTC

c: Hi everyone. Thank you all so much for your support. This video has been highly requested. I hope it sheds light on my experience and journey with voice thus far. Pray be that it further illuminates the path.
I've also attached the .png of the timeline for y'all!

I wanted to make some fun content after my last three long form and serious education videos! This was really enjoyable to make and I will probably do another one in the future that I prepare for more carefully.
I basically improvised like 68 different voices that day and then just picked a few. The production on this video is a bit more casual which made it very fun to edit. I actually stayed up too late tonight editing it and it's time for bed. >,,<
enjoy :)

about 2 months ago I dragged the Lyra8, Moog Sub37, and BigSky into a room and filmed some jams. This is a 15 minute excerpt from the live session.

Here is a short video illustrating some of the glitches and errors that can display on a formant tracking application when altering glottal behavior. It's important to be aware of these kinds of things if you want to utilize spectrogram/resonance tracking applications in your practice.
I chatted with a student today who was confused and perplexed by this -- which was influencing their practice. This video displays very high R1 with different manners of glottal behavior to s...

Here is comprehensive set of 10 exercises to interact with, explore, induce, and observe vocal fold thinness and thickness. Additionally, there is ear training resources and information about how to apply the resources.
This was an extremely fun document to make and I hope it's helpful! Thanks everyone for your continued support. <3

December 23rd, 2016 was the last time I touched a great acoustic piano. I brought I stereo mic'd a Steinway in a nice chamber recital hall. My goal was to record and album with music video. I pressed record and improvised for about 1 hour and 15 minutes. One of the major tracks was glitched due to a mic problem which is why I never released the album. These pieces are completely improvised.
I released 4 music videos with these pieces:

Hi everyone! I'm super excited to share this video with you all! This is the longest video I've ever made. It specifically deals with the top down, big picture, macro perspective of voice feminization.
Many issues I see people experience during the process of voice alteration is caused by a lack of big picture thinking--missing the forest for the trees. It's my hopes with this video, everyone will be able to have access to a clear and effective big picture model.

- How to practice voice control
- Airflow, SOVTEs, and Air Pressure
- Adduction and Controlled Closure
- Abduction
- Vocal Fold Thickness vs Thinness (several exercises and approaches)
- Pitch

I'm so excited and proud to bring my Patrons this new work! I poured my heart and soul into this constantly for the last 8 days. I did around 1,500 vocal takes. I learned so much more about singing in the process and I'm so excited to share that with my fem singing students. <3
This piece is really special to me. This was the first time I felt like I could "move away" from voice and dedicate myself to a big art project since I have been teaching voice and making voice resources...

Hi everyone! I have slowly been putting together a living document of relevant voice feminization terms. I wanted to make the most important entries act like short lessons which directly connect back to voice feminization and how they concept can be used.
Eventually I will add audio files and more graphic content. I'd love to turn this into a multi-media TransVoice glossary! If anyone out there wants to help, just let me know!
I'm going to be making a video going over these ...

This was awesome to be a part of and I'm so thankful to be able to do this! Here are relevant main areas time stamped:
start: Lecture over Trans Voice Basics, and the Bigger Picture

Hi everyone! I'm super excited to host another voice workshop for my supporters. We will kick off the event at 1pm PDT which is exactly 1 hour from now.
It will be an exciting event full of lessons, working with voices, Q&A, and silly fun. I will also be announcing a new policy and system for doing Patron voice feedback to make it much simpler for myself and students to do!
To participate just enter the Discord server and join the voice channel, "Voice Workshop".

I have been doing a bit more voice modeling lately. I don't do it with any fancy algorithms or software. I just use a saw oscillator, noise oscillator, basic ASDR envelope, pre-filter filter for spectral tilt, vocal tract resonance with a slight fundamental boost for proximity, R1, R2, R3, R4, and a subtle anti-resonance which only matters for like 2 of the sounds, and some subtle room reverb. Doesn't sound too bad actually. There are a few weird spots in the resonance track relationships I m...

Hi everyone! I'm gonna start uploading cool / interesting / helpful short videos of voice like this to the Patreon. I have a lot of content I should post to Patreon but I'm always worried about blowing up your notifications. During my last stream I said I didn't want to blow your feeds up but you all asked me to, so I'm gonna start posting a ton of stuff to patreon. <3
This video shows the use of the R2/R3 merger via extremely bunched [ɹ]. I am experimenting a lot with various...

This video explains the most important element of voice feminization and why it is so important. In the video there are 4 primary exercises from my vault to help you learn control over this resonance.
Every container around you, produces a tone when tapped. This is called a "natural frequency". Your throat (pharynx) has it's own natural frequency based on how large it is. We call this frequency, R1. It strongly determines the sex perception of an individuals voice.&nb...

This snippet is somewhat magical! September explained she detects an unwanted covering of the sound which gives her a less ideal quality. We go hunting for the cover and quickly find it. Her and I come up with a new approach to help fix the covering issue which explores do the oropharyngeal gradient with the vowel /uh/ then shifting the tongue position to the vowel /ae/ after the oropharyngeal brightness is added in. This immediately solved her cover and allowed her to go much bri...

In this audio, I am working with Livi! She asked if she could have help cleaning her voice up and identifying the problem areas. We found she has many many great behaviors and is in a lovely point, however she just needs to gain better control over her oropharyngeal space to raise R1 more consistently.
There are lots of great tips and perspectives for any student struggling with acquiring the right brightness. She was an awesome and receptive student and got some great improvement...

**STROBE WARNING**
I'm super excited to share this piece in just intonation! It has been bringing me joy to work on. This will be an ear tingler!
The composition uses a 34 tone unequal harmonic scale. It's based of the prime 17. Then, the prime multiplied by 2:4, creating 34:68. Intervals formed vertically from 34 reflect a unique sound quality and identity unique to 17. This lineal segment has entirely unique intervals except the perfect fifth and the octave.. As suc...

Why & What:
Yesterday, a question was asked on my server about basics. It made me realize I've spent a lot of time talking about higher level and advanced techniques. I decided to make a simple write-up covering very basic considerations that students of all levels can grow from.
I often find one or more of these issues present in beginners voices who feel stuck. These mistakes can blend together and create a dissatisfying vocal experience for the user who i...

One student at the workshop presented what is known as a "cover"--where the voice is accidentally blocked when trying to build the right resonant structure. Covers can really slow down peoples progress and make efforts towards bright resonance actually go darker.
Each cover is a little bit different. In this audio file we examine, dissect, and solve a students covering problem.
This audio file is useful to anyone who wishes to see the problem solving process for R1.
