More work on the course today! Trying to finish up the song lol, as you know I can get stuck trying to finish songs so it’s a bit of a struggle. But I think it’s getting there! Good practice for me too :P

Also as always, working on the voice (clocking 1.5-2h vocal practice per day at the moment). It can feel like a bit of a hamster wheel, but the results don’t lie when you keep it up over time.

Second day of filming course done!

Hey gang,

Today was a little slower - spent a lot of time finding the right melodies and stuff for the chorus of the song I’m making in the course 😅 But ye, worked out, two 1h vocal practices and shooting a bunch of hours for the course… feeling pretty productive here! Gonna work a bit tomorrow too, to try to get the course stuff done.

First day if course done!

Just filmed the first two lessons of my course (about 3 hours of stuff but it will be cut down a bit). This song and course are gonna be really great I think! I was nervous but got some really sick stuff in there so I’m confident.

Been a busy few days with a lot of meetings and events. Still prepping for the course, ran into some problems with my filming setup today and had to drive two hours to get special stands 🥲 Really hate buying stuff like that lol.

I’m scheduled to start filming the course tomorrow, but I might push it an additional day so I don’t have to stress while there’s still some tech issues to deal with.

More setup today, spent some time coloring the cameras/setting up yet another camera angle for the course. Had singing lesson (working on "Don't wanna miss a thing" lol) and did some chores/planning.

Jonas is booked for finishing up the Levels of Bohemian Rhapsody edit, but that'll drop in a couple weeks.

Getting ready to film the course

Hey gang,

Today I spent a lot of time getting ready for filming my music course, structuring up the different parts etc. Pictured is my overhead camera for the keyboard - a little janky, but I was able to avoid buying a specific stand for it so I’m happy hehe.

I also filmed a new commentary video. Should be out early next week. Lots of stuff in the works!

Today was another admin-ish day. I wanted to film but ended up looking for video ideas I felt excited about, doing some singing practice, reading feedback on my course outline... Then in the evening I went to an event at Atlantic Studios meeting a bunch of other music youtubers and artists. Some collabs might come out of that.

It’s still gonna be a balancing act around content and music making. I’m hoping to fuse them as much as possible, though some share of the vid...

Most of my day today went towards thinking about the music course I'm making. As it stands now, it will be called:

"Maximize your vocal potential: singing, tuning, recording, melody crafting & producing for outstanding vocals & impactful songs"

The idea is that it should be accessible for both beginners & pros. How does that title strike you? I know it's a bit wordy, just trying to get all the parts in there :D

Random post, but Jonas got engaged this week. Made me think of this old pic lmao.

Just wanted to tell you guys I appreciate you loads. Having you with me in the ups and downs is really nice, and using this space as a bit of a work diary and chatting to you is amazing, and it really helps.

Production Saturday

Hey gang,

Woke up late today, but spent most of the day recreating the instrumental from Taylor Swifts "Style", which is expertly produced by Max Martin and Shellback. Posted a clip in instagram stories for those curious. Jonas is working on edits for the voice message video, and they're looking sick! Gonna film the last parts tomorrow for that, and as I've said before, release Tuesday. Should be fun!

Sunday, the music day

Hey gang,

Took today to mess around with different music production stuff and made this little vibe I'm attaching to this post. 

I went through maybe 10 different drum libraries and came to the conclusion that I didn't really like any of them that much, so I'm building my own drum kits :P Takes a bit longer but is very rewarding.

Not gonna write too much today since it's not a workday and I've just been nerding out, but aiming to film at least something for the voice me...

Permission to shout at me :P I woke up remembering a very important thing I wanted to do with this series - making it work as shorts/tiktoks/reels. And then I realized that I hadn't chosen a camera angle with enough of my body visible to comfortably crop it. So I went over it all again!! New camera angles, change in lighting, change in coloring.  This works. Also tried to reduce the halo a bit after your comments on the last post. 

I was way too tired too film the actual video...

Changed the camera angle. Tried 30 different ways of lighting it. This is what I finally came up with. What do you think? I really feel like it's time to move on now haha. I think this looks pretty good!

Getting VERY tired of smoothies. Hoping to try some solid foods this weekend :)

Today was even more coloring research. Watched more tutorials, watched videos on how to grade music videos (those guys are amazing lmao). Anyway this is what I arrived with for this video - I think the limiting factor for me right now more than anything is lighting and the colors in my room. The blue lights on the synth are super bright and blue so I had to isolate that and pull it back. The "Hi" on my screen was yellow because i filmed with Flux on a different temperature than my lights (lov...

New video editing program/working on visuals for voice message video

Weekend update
