Previously i made it because it was a necessary precursor to making pyrimethamine. But now i'm just making it because i want to. Should i still give it a full video like this? or should i instead stuff it into a lab notes video? By itself it's only interesting to other chemists and amateurs rather than the general public. Maybe put it on hold entirely until i do have a use for it?

Still a work in progress. You can tell by the british computer voice. I'm refilming the dioxane separation step since the original version was of crappy quality. Something i have never shown you before is how i'm editing my videos before i narrate them. Sometimes if i expect a video to be very long or very complicated i use a text to speech synthesizer to auto-narrate the video so i can edit quicker. Using my actual voice takes longer since i go through several takes to get the right intonation. And if i make changes, i have to narrate all over again.

Good thing i didn't post the video last week, because i was able to squeeze in another reaction with some new alcohols.
So this new version is almost exactly the same as before but i also test secondary alcohols as well. The new stuff begins at around 3:54, when you get the phenols part the video proceeds as before.
