Patreon Reward Updates

Hey guys! So this might be a LOOONG post, but we wanted to let you all know ahead of time that we plan on making some Patreon reward changes this May (we want to leave things as-is for a couple months for anyone who recently joined specifically for the current rewards). We're making the Supurrvisor a giant cat wheel

Hey guys! So... the title says it all, we're making Joob a cat-sized hamster wheel! This is actually a type of thing that exists (but they range from $250 to over $1000!) We just finished putting together the top wheel part, it's made from oak plywood and white aluminum flashing (which we'll line with carpet on the inside). 

Gonna start on the base today... I just hope she uses...

Thumbnail struggles

A week or so ago, jacksfilms tweeted asking other creators how long they spent on thumbnails. It was really interesting reading the answers, ranging from 20-30 minutes to half-days to more. We're super not consistent... sometimes a thumbnail will come together in 30 minutes and sometimes it takes a full day. So many things to think about. Toast Coaster Test Commence!

Gonna leave ice cold water on our toast coasters for an hour as a reasonable coaster usefulness test. RIVETING I KNOW!

In the name of actually trying to improve a 5-Minute Craft project, where they made toast coasters. Trying a few concrete version, and a couple resin versions. Resin is our favorite so far of course :P

Mini Vlog 20 - Audio journey part 2

Wanted to give y'all an update on our audio situation now that it is mostly finalized. Very happy with how things ended up turning out :) It has made making content MUUUCH easier and we're much happier with how everything sounds now! - E

Next project = bent resin!

Hey guys! Wanted to share what we're working on next, and we're gonna try bending partially-cured sheets of resin into lamps!

We got the biggest rigid silicone rectangular molds we could find, these guys are actually lasagna pans! But they have a really shiny surface finish and are the right size for what we're making.

Final top coat is our favorite moment lol 🙌 wanted to share one last behind the scenes photo before we launch the video tomorrow. It's crazy that after 17 resin projects it still feels like we learning so much each time. -E

Might be one of our favorite resin pours ever!

Seeing the thermochromatic pigment change color when the resin hits was just so amazing 🤤🙌 

It might be one of our silliest videos yet but is it weird if I think it's also beautiful? Might need to do something similar on a more "traditional" base sometime.

Grass wall art design

Hey guys! Thought we'd share what we're thinking for the next video - gonna do a faux grass and cedar outdoor wall art! The photo above is my photoshop mockup. We're using cedar trim and actually the same cedar fence posts we used on the fence for the wood, and artificial grass for the grass. Because it can't die and all that :P

Mini Vlog - Audio Adventures

We put on our responsible adult hats and went to file our taxes a little bit ago and realized that due to the way we were running our merch shop, we owed sales taxes in multiple different states. Why did we wait so long??

We're continuing to work on the backyard while the weather is great and just finished adding pickets to our side of our neighbors fence... really not sure why we waited so long. It only took about an hour and it looks SO much better lol. Going to start on this weeks video soon (the buy vs diy)
