Shell Voicings - All Shapes For Multiple String Sets

A comprehensive outline of shell voicings (in standard tuning) for the E,A,D, and G strings. Shell voicings are essentially 7th chords, with the 5th removed. I believe that these are a foundational chord for playing Math Rock + Jazz in standard tuning.

Shell voicings are especially useful in that they

1) Provide the rudimentary structure of a 7th chord.

2) It provides an easy structure that can have extensions added to it. I.e, if you have a structure that ...

6 Major Scale Patterns (In G Major)

Hey everybody, here's a PDF of the 6 major scale patterns, but for G major. I'm posting this as some of my basic chord materials (Shell Voicings + Alternative Shapes) are in the key of G. This might be useful for those who are working on that document.

Cheers,

'Scubadiving', A Piece With 11 Compositional Techniques

1) + 2) The piece begins with the first guitar playing a riff, that riff is repeated by the 2nd gear but rhythmically displaced to create a canon effect.

3) The harmonies in the canon are layered so that the tones support a single chord structure

4) At the end of measure 5, a chord shot idea occurs. That chord shot idea turns into the beginning of a new phrase. This is one of my favourite tricks; take the end of a phrase and use that to start a new idea

5) The staggered guit...

'Twinkleburst' - An Exploration Into New Colours In DAEAC#E (Guitar Tab)

A new, very short composition. I think this is one of the cooler things that I've written! It's an attempt to get further into my understanding / ability to control harmony in DAEAC#E. This idea features less open notes and more structures / processes that are based on music theory. Hope you like it!

Groupings Of 3rds In DAEAC#E (Beginner Chords)

Some nice introductory chords to be used in DAEAC#E. Not only are these easy to play, but you may recognize them from the band Tiny Moving Parts. The song 'Common Cold' comes to mind when I hear these.

Above (Chorus Analysis) - Yuki Hayashi

Anybody here watch the anime 'Haikyuu'? I found that there's a really nice piece of music in one of the songs from the OST. I decided to transcribe it for the purposes of analysis.

Main points of interest 1) The Bb chord harmonizes with a #11 tension, 2) really interesting octave displacement in combination with stepwise ideas. 3) lots of 5ths / 4ths which are centred around the tonic.

Midwest Emo Legato Licks In DAEAC#E

These specifically focus on pull-offs into open notes. This material is similar to my previous document on midwest emo legato, but I wanted to do a version in DAEAC#E as that's a more common context than standard tuning.
